The Pies

I started a thread on this a few weeks ago and I agree...there's something iffy about them although I did see a little lad crying at half time cos his mum wouldn't let him have a sausage roll...."don't bloody start crying over a sausage roll"
Tears were streaming down his face.... he'll be glad he never got one when he's 45 and been addicted to them all his life 😂

I've only heard very positive things about them from people who've actually bought them from the actual shop in poulton

Do the pies not travel well or are they different pies ?

They are not a patch on what they were a couple of seasons ago. Quality seems to have dropped. The Pork Shop appear to have branched out and there are outlets springing up so over the place, mainly in Spar shops.
Had one of the new steak pies at the Cardiff match and it was awful. Tried the meat and potato at the Coventry game and it was much better, but still not warm enough and not very full.

Get yourself to greggs great pies and cheap as fcuck
YOU HAVE TO BE JOKIN'! Last time I had something from Greggs I threw it in the bin in front of the staff, I asked for a hot sausage roll, it was barely lukewarm. It's been years since I had something decent from Greggs.

Pie boycott? I enjoyed my pork pie but there was a bit of crust missing which suggests we have a nibbler on the staff

As a P-L-F resident, I can also support that for Pork Pies dinky/medium/Large…..No Better!!

Family Steak pies……Unbeaten.

But…….The traditional pasties & t/a hot pies 🥧 I too find on the “dry” side.

The guy who owns the Pork Shop is a “top bloke” & I know he will not take this “constructive criticism” to heart and will take corrective action to in future produce :
“The Most Succulent Hot Pies In Lancashire” 🌹
“Produced in Poulton NOT East Lancashire”👍

You should of got a pie and not a sausage roll

I've been a fan of the vegan pie they've brought in. Although, from the absence of a price option for it on the till and the fact the staff have twice given me an extra one for free, I suspect I may be the only one.

Not that I have to explain myself to you princess 😉 but as I'd not eaten all day and was looking forward to the culinary treat of said pies I was rather disappointed with meagre filling and taste of the steak and whilst the filling of the pork pie was ok the pastry does not travel well at all. You will have noticed the large pastry bombsite scattered around my seat if you'd have looked more closely, I repeat I'm sorry but I was genuinely disappointed with them ..

I have had them from the shop and at matches. They are the same quality. Holland’s are mass produced very ordinary pies. However having said that, we all have different tastes…

To be honest after all that ice cream it was probably a good thing. 🤣

What pie have you ever bought from Greggs? I went into one once to see why they were suddenly here and taking over from Burton's and they didn't sell a single pie that I could see. All 'slices'. Pound bakery the same. Now they are everywhere. Paddy McGuiness mentions them every time he's on telly and Burton's has gone. Humble meat and potato, King of pies, under threat on the streets. We need to act now!
