Carey is much more imaginative than Virtue and he's got a real gift at finding space. He looks a bit like Virtue at the moment cos he's playing the foil role to Fiorini and bustling about but there is not a chance in hell that Virtue could have knitted the top end together like he did against Reading. I'm not dissing Virtue, he's just not got that in his game.Yes Patino likes to drop deeper. I think Fiorino looks for passes in all directions. Carey is more like Virtue, drives forward, quite direct, and less of a passing range than Fiorini, who moves around the pitch a lot more. If that makes sense. Beer and 00.19 hours.
Watch him closely next time he plays, he's got a sensational ability to just hang on someone's shoulder and then step off and find a pocket of space or run off someone else's movement.
It's not showing at the moment as that's not been what he's being asked to do. He's being asked to drop in and cover Fiorini who as you say, likes to rove. So does Carey - that's the exact point I'm making.
I'm not playing them off each other - I like Fiorini, or at least the QPR game version but I'm just interested in if Carey has more freedom if he plays with Patino and thus can play that roving role that suits him more.
I hope he gets a chance as I think he's got something.
