The Super Casino

Yep that’ll pull them in. Come to Blackpool it’s clean. The small percentage of people who have addiction issues will have these issues whether it’s a back street bookies or the Sands Casino. Fed up of us pandering to these groups, this would be a massive boost to the town. Anyway spice head no teeth Darren and his 10p accumulators aren’t the sort of people who’d be welcome in a super casino.
Like I said above the outset, I just don’t think it’s ever likely to get a green light for all the reasons I’ve mentioned.

My view is that it’s best to move on 👍

Maybe we could get that fella from Glasgow to come and open a big Willy Wonka Factory here instead ??

If a casino quarter was still on offer it could be decent I suppose, although gambling can be a bit more frowned upon, it's also so easy to do anyway these days with tech.

It may never happen anyway now.

But what Blackpool needs is more indoor attractions to get people in all year round

A few quick ideas...

MSG sphere... (not muckers) arena...

Snowdome skiing type place.

Eureka type place.

Eden project type place, although one is going to Morecambe.

Tbh some of the other things I thought of are kind of covered with the Blackpool Central project, which will be a massive boost.

Let's not forget what's meant to be coming.

One - is the Casino the M shaped thing, the wave like structure in front of it, or both?

The casino is actually underneath - the rest is hotel, restaurants, entertainment, shops and the roof is basically a party area - which is absolute quality!!!

I think the glass structure in front is Louis Viton.

There is also an episode of extreme engineering on the build.

This below maybe out of date, it gives you an idea……

It's hard to imagine how the introduction of the casinos would have made things any worse than the increased social deprivation we've seen in the last 15 years or so since that vote
Let's remember we have the lowest life expectancy and some of the poorest wards in the country
Totally agree. The way to lift people out of poverty is to bring investment to the town and a Super Casino/Resort Hotel is certainly one way to do it because you can also attract world class entertainment if you have the right facility.

Vegas is as much about the themed hotels and attracting top artists and sports events like NFL, boxing, wrestling and F1 as it is gambling. The days of Wakes weeks and working class holidays has long gone so you have to think big like the people who came up with building the Tower Complex just over a 130 years ago. It was an enormous investment at the time something like 300,000 GBP in 1891 would now be somewhere around 48M GBP today probably a lot more because building and raw material costs have spiralled.

Do husbands not like designer clothes shops, do wives not like gambling?
I was only generalising
Statistically far more men gamble than women
I don't have the stats on how many women like to shop as compared with men but I would suggested that's even more polarised 🤣

My wife is definitely addicted to shopping, clothes, shoes, handbags, even slippers, I don’t think I can count the number of slippers she has, let alone racks of shoes, handbags and clothes, many bought ages ago still with labels on.

Any chance that Pool would find that all important booster to their finances and ultimate status, disappeared when the enterprise was ludicrously awarded to East Manchester.
Remember KOKO being outraged!! Wasn't built in the end was it?
