Because Spanish are shit at making a Full English Breakfast?
You might want to watch some football including the team you purport to support?
Spanish style is more restaurant,cafe tapas and you might just want to have a pint in a pub?

The Brits love the pub culture so nothing wrong with finding a suitable venue whilst abroad.
I ran Brit pubs in the 90's in Spain it ain't for me either but if I was in Tenerife Sunday The Swan would be getting a visit for the Forrest game.

I never understand why some people are so judgemental about how others spend their holidays. Spending 4 weeks in the rain climbing mountains or following a shit cricket team around the Caribbean might not be your cup of tea, but it wasn't your money I was spending.
A holiday is time to relax and everyone does it in different ways....

To watch their team whilst on holiday? That's what I did in 2022 when I visited The Swan. I can highly recommend a visit. Pool lost of course. On the plus side, I did get to see A_Tense_Grin clear the bar with his karaoke skills.

Watched the mighty lose to Peterborough this season... so 100% defeat ratio but 100% nethertheless:(

But Brill bar and although pissed off after the game loved a final beer on the roof terrace . Great pub and hope leigh is on mend soon
 
Hoping to be back in Los Cristianos in late May. A few days after winning the play off final.

Maybe during the days of Franco tourists were required to supply evidence of where their income came from, I don't know. Certainly nowadays that information is not provided on entry and bars don't ask for it before serving.
In short, neither I nor you have any idea, it's just another one of those lazy tropes...............

I remember the 80s and 90s and being on holiday trying to get the result. It either involved being in a bar and listening to BBC world service results or buying a paper a day late!
