The Table takes shape after 8 games

That is over a sixth of the season gone in 8 games and they always say this is a good point at which the league reveals a lot about what will happen.
I think Coventry, Birmingham, Huddersfield and Wigan are my 'ones to watch' for the drop - PNE are an interesting one - have they got goals in them or are they a side that could open the floodgates, wish we'd have beaten Stoke - we'd have been in a false position but would have put them further in the mire and neither Welsh club are doing much and no one would be disappointed to see either going.
I know we're only 2 points off the Play Offs but have found us frustrating to watch this season, we've lost Bowler and safety is the best we can hope for and so, for me, little point looking up other than at some point to move ahead of the Nobbers hopefully.

What that does show is this league is made up of about 6 teams that should get in those top 6 places and the other 16 are anybody's!
Boro v Sunderland will be an interesting one to watch tomorrow.

If we’d have lost today we’d have been 2 places above the relegation zone. It’s a great league when you think about it, as it’s so close all season.

String 3 wins together and you’re ply offs. Lose 3 and you’re relegation zone

Bowler has gone. Get over it, Poveda looked very positive today.

Are you not entertained? To quote Gladiator?? I would so much more enjoy this rollercoaster than endure plodding through league 1. Not perfect but totally committed - I like that 👍🏻

Much better than the Premier League 😃 more cut throat!

the games are entertaining. You cannot predict anything. I am loving it.
I found yesterday very entertaining - ironically had we have added another I think it could have become quite a staid game but as it was both sides knew the next goal was the crucial one which ironically didn't come.

After about five minutes I said whoever scores first wins this game. I got a little concerned when we squandered that great chance when Yates overhit the ball to Gabriel, but it all came good in the end.

We were totally committed last season surely? And better organised. Early days of course.

The foundations for the strong safe season last year was built on a solid run between fixtures 8 to 16. Though last season we had Derby already on minus points, Barnsley & Peterborough already looking sunk.
Coventry pick up points with their games to play could compact the table very tightly. ( have Coventry’s games been rearranged yet?)

The first proper milepost time to look at the table would be the upcoming international break……

I don't happen to think the table does take shape after 8 games. I'd expect the relegated teams to stay up there in the top 6 obviously, and probably Sheff U, so that much is sorted i guess. But the rest is a very moveable feast, I reckon.

Plus wev got Patino, Fiorini, to come back, Carey is available now, Clark will no doubt start soon, not to mention Keshi. I’m only talking about creative players here who will make a difference. The futures bright, the futures tangerine.
Do you mean Wright? Yes we've got through a difficult period with a skeleton squad and have a lot of players to come back and get up to speed. However the league has not yet taken shape, Reading will be nowhere near the play offs come the end for example, it will take another 5 or 6 games to really take shape. I thought before the season started that the three relegated sides would end up as the top three with the blades the best of the rest, and I think that's how it will pan out.

Safety is the best we can hope for?
Let's get ahead of the Nobbers?
Really?
Thank god you don't give any inspirational speeches to the team before they go out to play 🤦🏻‍♂️
No point being ahead of the Nobbers if they finish 24th and we're 23rd.

Aim as high as you can and over the course of the season make sure you leave nothing in the tank.
Give your all and you never know at seasons end you may just have been good enough to gain promotion/ make the playoffs.
Give the supporters something to cheer and put in performances that make you feel proud.

We just need to pick up as many points as we can whilst the squad is depleted. Then when we get close to a fully match fit squad (in a couple of months), let’s see then. The hope is we will then start closer to the top 6 than the bottom 3 and can look to push on in the 2nd half of the season. It’s possible this squad has real potential

A win Saturday and that's a huge leap forward. Probably takes you up to 7/8th.

Then I wonder what the team will look like when everyone is fit (bar Stewart obvs.) and a couple of frees come in.

Said before I didn't want MA, but I think he's looking increasingly like the best manager we've had in a long, long time and I'm sure he has a vision of how that team will look.

Winning away at QPR and Huddersfield and drawing 3-3 with the dingles shows a lot of character. add in the additional players still to return and there's a lot to be positive about.

Yes that's right. I love the championship for that very reason. Even in its current form it is arguably the most competitive of all the biggest leagues in the world. And, if/when the TV money gets more evenly distributed, it will be even more competitive....

Who’s Clark?

If we don't win another game we'll end up with 11 points.

If we carry on at our present rate we'll end up with 63 points.

If we win all our outstanding games we'll end up with 125 points.

Take your pick! 😛

I'd say the international break is the initial benchmark, then the Christmas period before we see the league starting to take shape, just look at Forest last season, wasn't Cooper appointed in Sept 21? It will be interesting to see how teams manage the W/Cup break, as the next transfer window is effectively only 12 -13 weeks away (4 week break).
