The Thomsons ruling the council again

It seems like the Pleasure Beach owners still have the ear of the council.

They have objected to a development on the Flagstaff Gardens which would see investment of up to £750 000 and create 80 jobs, the likelihood of the Thomson objection means it is likely to be knocked back, suprise suprise.

Street Food knock back?

I don't blame them along with other business in the area who pay thousands for rent and rates to sell food and drink to holidaymakers.
Nice idea wrong location should more central so locals can use it no one is going to try to park or travel for a Taco.

Which makes the argument that it’s bad for ‘local’ obesity rates moot. I agree with you by the way, locals would not be using it.

Read the report this morning Bennys and after a cycle ride along the prom I must admit, it would be a great idea to get rid of all those places that sell loaded calorific foodstuff so as to stop childhood obesity.
I'm sure Ms Thompson would encourage the removal of the fast food emporiums she has on the pleasure Beach.

The fact is, it's sod all to do with childhood obesity and all to do with something that could potentially eradicate profits from her families empire.

Plus I can't see the logic in being a parent and actively encouraging your child to wipe years off their age by feeding them shite. That's for another thread though🤷

Didn't know you could object on business grounds.

That's what's missing from Blackpool a central food hub with restaurants, cafés and the like could work at St John's square the Market and Abingdon st.
Don't agree. There is no free parking in town. And people won't / shouldn't have to pay to go for a ruddy Taco therefore it's better off in the suburbs.
