Theo Corbeanu Oops

Apparently the Canadian Ronaldo missed the team coach and had to get a taxi to Huddersfield 🙈😂

I'll chip in for him to get a taxi to every game if it means he scores the winner every week 😂
I wonder if that explains the complete lack of team celebration when he scored. Looks to be a gifted natural footballer but with no awareness of how to treat the game professionally. I can imagine how that would rub other players the wrong way.

The random comment "No awareness of how to treat the game professionally"

Looks in good condition.
Doesn't ball hog or do random tricks.
Doesn't shoot from anywhere.
Works hard as seen at Burnley.
Contributes key goals.

I mean I could go on but your comment looks like absolutely bollocks from where I am sat.
Have you not noticed how other players tend to point and explain to him where he should be at any particular moment?

Or Jerry giving him dogs abuse over a wrong decision in tbe Bristol City game? And Jerry's not like that (unlike Keshi) which suggests a level of frustration.

And he does shoot from ridiculous angles and try to beat a man twice instead of crossing. He did it again today.

Just look at the goal celebrations if nothing else. Only Thompson goes over today and thats basically because he plays behind him and they need to get on.

I've played with guys like that. It all suggests they play for themselves rather than the team and others won't like that. Even Appleton said that 'the group' hadn't seen the best of him yet.

If he keeps scoring goals then he'll earn the respect of the team. But missing the team bus won't help.

Do you think you might just be making stuff up?

Great story bro!

Maybe Jerry should learn to pass 5 yards for an open goal as well?

I think a lot of the players were celebrating with Gabriel. Judging from Jerry’s Instagram post he doesn’t seem to have much of a problem with Theo.

If it was huge problem missing the team bus, he wouldn’t have started the game, simple as that really🤷🏼‍♂️

Whilst there’s small elements of truth in the minority of what you’re saying. Other parts are laughable. Only Thompson celebrated with him and that’s because they play on the same side so they have to get on? Come on.

Theo’s work rate and tenacity can’t be questioned, I’ve seen many a Blackpool player who’s ‘playing for himself’ and he’s certainly not under that bracket. What he lacks in natural footballing ability he makes up for in determination and hard work, the Burnley and Bristol City goals being prime examples.

I think the lack of players going to him to celebrate today probably had more to do with how well Gabriel did to make the goal. He does shoot more than the other forwards but I don’t mind that, we’ve been shot shy in my opinion since the start of Critch now so it’s not bad thing to have someone who’s not afraid to let fly.

I’m sure Appleton’s had words with him for missing the bus. There could have been a perfectly good reason why he missed it. He’s a 20 year old lad, his work ethic is good and he comes across as a genuinely nice guy in interviews, cut him some slack.

He’s certainly been a revelation since he arrived and his strike rate puts Jerry well in the shade. Don’t think looking for problems which might not exist is helpful to anyone.

We still doing this "they all hate Corbeanu theory."

Yeah I noticed Grimshaw gave him several dirty looks from 70 yards...........

He doesn't lack in natural football ability. The complete opposite. He lacks in the dull, tedious aspect of playing the game for a living where you just can't do what you want but have to conform to working under set patterns of play where minimal standards of positioning and effectiveness are required.

But he's young and can learn those things and it's Appletons job to help him to get where he wants to be.

Today's goal wasn't easy and he should be applauded for it but learn the basics and catch the team bus doesn't seem that onerous.

Anyway, if players read this forum they'll be all over him next goal so everyone's happy.

Stop posting. Seriously stop it

I don’t condone missing the team bus (if true) but if he then got Joe le taxi to get him to the ground on time AND scored the winning goal - his stock has only gone up in my view!!

On the official site there is a pic of Dougall hugging him.

I doubt there is one of us who can honestly say, totally hand on heart, that they‘ve never missed a bus before now

🙋‍♀️

Appleton said -

"Theo's had the composure to finish it off and that was great to see. He knows where the goal is and he'll get more goals and assists to his name between now and the end of the season. He's a great lad and is learning all of the time. He wants to learn and wants to be better, and we can help develop him as much as possible."

Missing the team coach is hardly going to make the team cast him aside is it. They probably poked fun at him for it a little, that's all.
Turning up in a Limo, or a helicopter might alienate him somewhat I suppose, but not a taxi.

No I think people have misunderstood, he missed the coach, he had been apart form Appleton for a day or two and missed him badly.

Coming from a country with functioning public transport I’m not surprised he struggles with travel in Britain

Hey how have you typed that with a straight jacket on ?

All I know is if he was available to buy in Jan at 1 million I would snap their hand off. He is a natural finisher, other parts of his game may need to improve but someone capable of regularly scoring is what we are missing
