A general statement, which is regarded as Gospel by most Pundits in both Sport and even Business. Yet SS has taken the plunge against this advice. I am personally easy about it, and I fervently hope that he is proved right. But…..just saying !

It's just a saying.

The stats will show the majority of the time managers fail and by fail I mean are sacked as opposed to them leaving for bigger more well paid roles.

Lets look at our 2 recent examples, Michael Appleton and Simon Grayson.
Graysons managerial career was nose diving well before he came here is it such a shock he completely failed? And Is Appleton really a championship manager?
I suppose my point is did they fail because we looked back or were they just 2 poor appointments who werent up to it?

Great contribution. We haven’t discussed this topic yet.

Ferguson at Peterborough has gone back 4 times and done very well
Not if you take a quick look at his most recent game in charge. Hardly bucked the trend of the old saying on that particular occasion, did he!? Just ask those poor Posh fans currently receiving counselling...

It’s a load of rubbish

Carlo Ancelotti started his managerial career at Reggiana who are currently in Italian 3 rd division .

He went on to become the most decorated manager in Champions League history

Would these pundits be telling Reggiana not to have him back ?
