Firstly, we’re all on a bit of a high after last night, eh?

Looking at our players (and I’m sure other club’s scouts are), we are being very pleasantly surprised. Or not, if you’re clairvoyant.
I’ll start at the back: I’m surprised Max has not had a call up for Wales. Price?
Eki (forgive him the slip early doors last night) continues to evolve. Giving him the captaincy also tells a story. Big, quick and obviously a good learner. Price? Million+?
Dougall: goes about his job quietly and has more plusses than minuses, every game. He came free but will now command a fee.
Carey: ok, early doors but I have high hopes for him. Please, Critch, keep him in the team.
Dale? A wide player that can ‘dance’ inside and we know he can shoot. 10-15 goals/season? Yeah, I might be jumping the gun here.
Bowler: needs to get his crossing and shooting polished but often draws 2 defenders, leaving space. Has been a million plus and could be again.
Jerry and Shayne: Both must not be sold below multi-millions. They’re what every team/fan dreams of.
Critch: do we get transfer fees for managers? Newcastle need a new manager!

I’ve picked my favourites here. Feel free to add yours or criticise as is your wont.

PS: Thanks, Simon S.

Wintle - stole him while Cardiff weren't looking down! Proper footballer.
Sterling - Prem quality
Keogh - destabilised us, then stabilised us!
Keshi - I like his drive and physicality, epitomises our mentality.

Nearly all our first team players were League 1 or League 2 at the start of last season, and were valued that way. If we carry on the way we have, they will all be valued as Championship players or top league 1 at least. The few players who were already Championship quality were all brought in on frees I think. Given the massive inflation in the Championship that's a massive profit on the team really.

I think it's telling with all of our signings I've always had a question mark or a "but", e.g. Jerry Yates looks great, but he's been playing in League 2. It's those question marks and "buts" which can make other teams hesitate to sign, we clearly have some sort of system where we decide we're happy to take the risk, and it's been working on the whole. If you sign 3 players you think are undervalued, and only one of them makes it, they will often pay for the other two and then some, though I think our strike rate is better than that.
