This has to stop.

Following on from the cases in Rochdale and Rotherham, to name but two, of child sexual exploitation and a number of people being jailed for their systematic and planned coercion of children into prostitution and drug-taking, yesterday we heard of an horrendous set of circumstances in Lambeth and Bradford.

The Lambeth report has been widely publicised on National Television and in the papers, but, the Bradford report, which was released on the same day was given a brief mention, and it is just as disgusting as the Lambeth report.

There is one part of the report on Bradford where a 15 year old girl, who complained about mistreatment was allowed to stay with the family who was exploiting her. It became worse when the girl became pregnant and was then married in an Islamic marriage ceremony to the man responsible, which was condoned by the local Social Sevices and attended by her Social Worker.

Like the Lambeth case, it appears that because of racial sensitivities a blind eye was turned to what was going on, for fear of retribution and denunciation from the minority involved.

WHAT ABOUT THE CHILDREN, AND WHY HAS NO ONE BEEN REPRIMANDED OR SACKED?

How many more of these horrendous cases do we have to read about, how many more Asian Gangs have to be jailed before something concrete is done. Apologies, I'm afraid, aren't good enough, action has to be taken and taken forthwith.

These disgusting and heinous crimes have been going in for far too long and as you say nothing seems to be done to these criminals to either set examples and deter others from committing similar atrocious crimes!

Time and again we are failing some of the most vulnerable members of our society. Those responsible must experience the full force of the criminal justice system and that includes anyone complicit in abuse such as those in authority whom abdicate their responsibilities. Peoples feelings of impotence, anger and frustration over this despicable abuse will not go away. This is bubbling in society. FFS our children really are some of the most vulnerable members of society.

It's okay to keep complaining and saying something has to be done, but how do you do it without being accused of racism and bigotry, yes I know there are white perverts too but there would be no accusations if we go after them and what are we going to do about those who throw kids to the mad scientists?

I know next to nothing about the Bradford case as there was very little coverage on the news but I don't think there were the same racial elements in the Lambeth case as in Rochdale and Rotherham where it was Asian gangs exploiting poor white girls.

In Lambeth it was an abusive, brutal, racist environment in the care homes. The council was too busy fighting the government and engaging in radical rhetoric rather than dealing with the injustices that were going on under their noses. The police and government inspectors weren't doing their job because they refused to believe the poor black victims.

If there is a common thread it is that those in authority don't believe poor children whatever their race.

Spot on Spirit.

This is about child exploitation; pure and simple. It's abhorrent and disgusting whoever is doing it and those vulnerable children have been failed consistently. When you consider that the Lambeth case was only progressed because THE VICTIMS built the evidence over a long period of time, you get to understand just how much these people have been failed by so many.

My biggest concern in all this is getting true clarity around what's being done to stop this. So many of these high profile cases - whether individuals, gangs or failure at care homes - seem to be a response to historical cases. It's almost like the mistakes are admitted from many years ago; which allows distance to be created versus the present. It also seems - and I hope it's just perception - that these predators are far more prevalent than any of us would think possible. It doesn't take a genius to work out that they obviously proactively look to be involved in work that involves children. We're always going to need adults to work with children, so will we ever see the end of this? Can we identify danger signs for example, or is this the pathway to guilty until proven innocent?

Seems to me that keep the kids out of poverty and there is less chance of them falling into the hands of abusers.
Two pronged approach maybe, create a fairer society with less of a gap between rich and poor, give young families help, opportunities, education and alternatives to poor diet, alcohol and drugs and if a pervert does commit an offence lock them up for at least 20 years.
That should put a stop to a lot of it.

Jimmy Savile, Gary Glitter, Rolph Harris, and many more have been found out and been either pursued or managed to cover up their crimes because of who they know. Ditto the ex MP from Rochdale, whose name eludes me. But presently it does seem to be Asian Gangs who are the prevalent offenders. The worrying thong is, in my opinion the vast majority of Asians are the same as most whites, they just want to live their lives and get on with others. It's these pernicious excuses for human beings that get them all a bad name. But, interestingly, not one Asian MP or councillor from Bradford has spoken out to condemn what has happened. In fairness to date, neither have any white councillors or MP's, including the leader of the council or the chief exec, both on extortionate wages.

I think the simpler explanation is lack a of accountability and the path of least resistance, it's just simpler and easier to ignore the problem and leave it to someone else, particularly when the organisation's key priorities are elsewhere.

In the case of the "Asian" gangs, "community relations" was top priority, it was just too much trouble for anyone to say "we have a problem here", so everone just looked the other way, likewise in the case of Lambeth the leadership seem to have been most interested in bringing revolutionary socialism to the borough so anything that gets in the way of that must be ignored.
