This is the dawning of a new era

Today is one of those shite footballing days, awful first half, we claw it back to a winning position which seemed hopeless based on the first half, then throw it away in injury time!

I'll never stop appreciating the grand scheme, I've said similar on other threads that if we don't go up this year, I'll be going into the next season full of hope from the signs we've seen recently. A sickening result today, but there are 11 more games to set it right - it certainly wasn't a cup final today!

Back to the King Billy days where the home draws feel like defeats and home defeat is almost unheard of.
They truly were great days when you felt like anything except 3 points was a let down.
The draws always seemed to be the quid a kid games too, when we'd balls it up in front of a big crowd.

On the balance of things and if we are honest with ourselves a draw was a fair result. We could have gone in 0-3 at half time. I'll take the point.
Let's be honest with ourselves, we have been reborn under Sadler and have a future something we didn't under those Oyston criminals.
We may well finish short this season but next year we will dominate.

I'm torn because whilst we have made MASSIVE progress and it has been an incredible ride this season, I genuinely think I'd be gutted if we now didn't go up and would worry a bit about next season when we're all back. Would we be as good a team or actually would we be even better and storm the league?

I think now we have reached the play offs positions we would all be gutted if we don't go up.
For most of the season I haven't really expected us to do it because it felt like we had left ourselves too much to do whilst being unable to put a consistent run together.
With the salary cap now gone, I think we would sign another 3 or 4 players capable of upgrading the starting XI and really giving automatic promotion a push next year if this season doesnt end in success.
I don't think storming the league should be anyone's mindset, we've seen far too many big clubs think they'll walk it and struggle to get back up to the Championship.

I think there'll need to be a fair bit of work done in the summer transfer window.
We haven't stormed many matches this season so an influx of quality in a few positions will be required if we're to storm the league or compete in the championship.
