This pilot scheme breaches the club's terms and conditions.

If there is a God I will not have to sit near this man when I finally get back in the ground.
He looks like he may need two seats in the first instance so should be barred from the 1000 on the grounds he’d be denying another fan entry.

spot on Curryman by the way

So rather than be pleased 1,000 are going to go in . You think it’s breached the club rules and no one should enter! WUM or extremely selfish and stupid .

In my opinion, there are a couple of clauses in the T&Cs that deal with this:

Clause 3.3(2) of the Terms and Conditions:
"In order to comply with competition and health and safety regulations it may not be possible for the Club to offer all Season Card Holders the opportunity of purchasing their seat. In these eventualities, the Club will endeavour to offer those Season Card Holders the nearest available seat (subject to availability). "

Clause 15.1:
"15.1 The Club reserves the right in its absolute discretion to change these Terms and Conditions from time to time. In this eventuality, the Club shall notify you should such changes materially affect the rights of any Holder "

bang on. Terms and conditions need to be read holistically, not cherry-picked to ‘prove’ a point.

Out of curiosity, I do wonder what the O/P thought the club should’ve done instead?

Don't hold your breath for a sensible reply TKL. I mean, that would mean being constructive, wouldn't it?

Charlie, he would probably be looking for a seat in the Directors box as compensation for his hurt. 🤡

Then it should be non, or do as Carlisle have done and get your t&C's correct from the outset and charge for admission

You are making a right pratt of yourself. You sound pathetic. Nobody is agreeing with what you say. Take that as a hint that what you are saying is petty and childish.

Terms and conditions cannot subvert or attempt to subvert the law, be that common law, primary or secondary legislation (the secondary legislation flowing from primary legislation as passed by Parliament).

The test events flow from Health Protection (England) Regulations 2020. There is additional ‘Elite sport - return to competition: safe return of spectators’ Guidance 15th September 2020. This is not in itself law and if it contradicts the law, it is ultra vires to it.

Those devices have permitted the Sec of State for Dept for Digital, Cultural, Media & Sport to permit the test events with reduced numbers.

Those legislative provisions therefore trump any terms and conditions. The provision refered to by th O/P is therefore in these circumstances, otiose.

Seasider, you missed the whole point.
It says 'where crowds are allowed...'
The point is that Crowds aren't allowed, that's why the segregation.

Wow, just wow. Club is busting it's arse to get people back into the ground and you want to have a go because the government won't let them have more than 1,000 in. You must have absolutely nothing else going on in your life to be pathetic.
