Listening to his commentary last night, he identified every issue with our play from our midfield not kicking up their 29, Ward out of position constantly, needing to change the system and more. He's clearly passionate about our club, has great tactical insight and knowledge of the championship scene. How is he not involved with our club in at least a Tony Parkes type role

Mental really isn’t it? However he was pushed aside when Appleton came in first time around. Thommo went from assistant to what looked like a first team coach role.

Question might be more a case of would Thommo come and work with Appleton?

Great coach and players absolutely love him, I’ve watched a few training sessions at Squires Gate. Probably too nice to be a manager in his own right but as said above him and Evo could be the dream team But is Evo in too deep at Bolton now.

I reckon Rob Edwards and thomson would make a good duo edwards is a good young upcoming coach and someone the fans would get behind and back

Now wanting to upset the Appy fan brigade, but I’ve seen Rob Edwards in action at FGR and you won’t find a more passionate coach on the touch line.

To be honest any half decent coach would be able to identify what’s going on during a game of live football. It’s being able to shape the resources that you have available and do something in the real world as opposed to imaginary commentary world that really matters.

Seriously, this again!

It’s not rocket science, it’s not difficult to see what is going wrong. However, our core problems are not down to coaching.

I listen to him when he's commentating and hrs very good but sometimes he seems to enjoy out when we are losing - I think it's from a technical perspective about how and why, rather than an emotional response.

I can see him turning into a Tony Parks type man which is high praise of he gets anywhere near.

Wasted doing recruitment.

I don’t think his role at Oldham will be limited to recruitment.

Done the right thing.
