Definitely mostly this. Ciaron Brown is quality! We've tended to play Stephan Negru and Sam Long over Thorniley too at CB, so he's destined to be a squad player at the moment unfortunately. Hasn't performed as well with us in those 15 or so games, as he did when on loan...

Shame for him as he went there for 1st team football and he’s in a similar position to here and Sheff Wednesday before that.
He’s a good CB but he’s not “stand out” good and he also lacks height so seems to be a squad player wherever he goes. Does a job when called upon but dropped when everyone’s fit.

He wls the same when with us, he tended to be either very good or a liability and not much in between. Having said that I liked him and he undeniably had a tremendous diagonal ball in him. Perhaps thats why Critchley didn’t want him, he played it forwards too much instead of backwards.

He'd actually work well in our three at the back on the left side.

I don't think he was mistreated during his time here, he was loaned out when he was down the pecking order, and played when he wasn't, that's the lot of a pro-footballer.

He was even slower than Uncle Richard but tried hard and gave his all. He did have a cracking ‘Evo’ pass in him though.
