Thorniley

I havent always been his greatest fan , he does lack pace and his body language doesn't do him any favours. But he was playing well towards the end of last season and I thought he had a great game today.
His reading of the game is superb and he cut out several dangerous balls and won several headers just by being in the right place at the right time. He is also very comfortable on the ball.
I hope we keep hold of him.

Very unlucky not to score too😉

He had a very good game. Like he hadn't been away.

We certainly need cover at CB and unless Critch has a replacement for Gretarrson lined up it's a no brainer to keep Thorniley.
Just don't play him at LB.
The problem of course is managing the squad numbers

Agree - had a good game yesterday, particularly as he hadn't played with this squad this season.

A great all round professional footballer.
Treated shit by Blackpool last season (you're not in our plans Jordan) one injury crisis later (we need you to cover at the back) and he did, admirably 👍🏻
This season, let's ship Thorniley out on loan and when the Brannagan deal stalls?
Jordan get yourself back here son.

Had a wobbly start yesterday but grew as the game progressed and ended as one of our better players.

I have total admiration of how he conducts himself on the pitch.
We have no idea if he and Critch are constantly rowing behind the scenes but on the pitch he rarely let's us down.

Think I’m happy either way though if pressed I’d want Brannigan over JT and we can make do for now with Casey, Connelly and Sterling as back up for CB with Hubby back at some stage

We’ve got another week now until our next game so one more week closer to getting players fit.
I think were more likely to see Norburn arrive from Peterborough than Brannagan, and see Robson go to MK, and Thorniley stay here

Agreed. Looks like Norburn is leaving Posh so probably us. He’s another Kenny:Kev player so I think Critch will choose pragmatism in midfield whilst we’ve got flair down the flanks.

Yesterday I was taking my cues from Chiz and his summariser on radio Lancs. That got me posting criticisms of Thorniley on the match thread. We'll, obviously I got it wrong and Thorniley played well. All power to him in what he wants to do....as long as we benefit as well, naturally.

Needs big Marv next to him as does Keogh for his pace. Looked solid yesterday but would like another CB with pace adding before tomorrow night

To be honest if I were JT, I'd be looking to get away from both Oxford and us, and find somewhere who actually values him for the good player he is. We clearly don't, and Oxford weren't interested enough to feel he was worth much in a possible Brannagan transfer.

To be told your not wanted and to find another club then show such professionalism and put in the performances he did when called upon was remarkable.he deserves so much credit for that.he was immense last season when in the team and it was great to see him in Tangerine again on Saturday.he deserves to be at a club where he’s wanted as BFC53 says.either way he’ll always have my respect for that.

Body language 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Wow. Our fan base frightens me at times. Forget all ability, you need to Graham Westley it.

Agreed Wizzerboy, possibly the one player from what we see who doesnt appear to be treated particularly fairly. He has never let us down at all but last season often lost his place after a good game.

He has the attitude which Critchley keeps saying he wants, gives all for the cause, committed to the club and a really good professional yet igg to seems he is doing all he can to get rid. He then signs Dale, who when we sent him back to Crewe threw his toys out of the pram. Not the attitude one would expect from a professional.

You were supposed to say: "Come on then, name me some?" and I was going to reply "I can't because you can never see them stood behind all the big warriors!" We need to be together on our scripts!! 😉
