Thunder Last Night

Saw the flash tho closed eyes, & the rumble went on for about 10seconds, getting louder as it went, Wow, had my heart thumping, was waiting for more, but a couple of distant ones then nothing!!

Went to watch Oppenheimer at the Flower Bowl yesterday; was like a re-run, but I was asleep again in seconds and had forgotten about it until I read this thread!

I had just gone to sleep 5 minutes earlier when through my closed eyes I could see a bright flash. As soon as I saw the flash there was a huge bang at the same time followed by a couple more less louder bangs then a long rumble. I had my window open so heard it full volume. It was f'ing loud. I'm surprised the windows didn't break.

I went to watch Oppenheimer and enjoyed the first two hours but the last hour totally baffled me, I didn't have a clue what was going on

Absolutely papped myself. It was actually the flash of lightning that woke me. Lit up the whole room. Then the thunder. Dog knocked open the door and jumped under the duvet. Was like a bomb had gone off. Never heard thunder that loud. Couple more quieter rumbles and then it was gone. Mental.

Anyone else hear that one off clap of Thunder around 2.45 ish last night? Probably the loudest I’ve heard around here, incredible. More bizarrely apart from the odd small rumble it seemed to disappear as quickly as it came.
Slept through it. Only heard one clap.

The first thing that woke me up was work on the south rail line about 1am, there I am an hour later sipping my hot choccy I get blinded by lightening and deafened by thunder. I did not have a good nights sleep, whinge, groan moan... :(

Yep, said something similar to the people I watched it with!

I will enjoy it again on second watching because there was a lot to take in at times.

And I was tiring a bit!

The first one must have been right overhead, and it went on for a good 8-10 seconds.

Living on the prom I thought a tram has derailed, until I realised they'd stopped running.

The loudest Ive ever heard. I got up to look out and expected a mushroom cloud. Really dis sound like a bomb had gone off. As mentioned above few distant rumbles then gone. Quite something!
