Living in the West Country how do I get tickets for the away end at Ashton Gate? Do I have to provide a double jag proof or even take a test. Will give the ticket office a ring but are they still self isolating?

Shop and ticket office are shut tomorrow. But is says on the website that they are available to take calls.

Please do let us know how you get on ,,,based down here in Dorset ,,so would be interested in the outcome ,,,

Just spoke to a great guy at Bristol City ticket office and he says they are sending 1,000 tickets to Bloomfield Road, but we can ask for up to 2,600 in total and yesterday the EFL said they can go up to full capacity in Ashton Gate., which is a bit surprising as Covid levels in Bristol very high. He wishes us well for the new season. I can't seem to get through on the Blackpool ticket office line but will keep trying. Can't wait to watch the Pool on the 7th, watched the wembley celebrations with my daughters home vids to get in the mood. Come on the mightly pool.

Season ticket holders will get first dibs on them I think?

I've been to Bristol city loads of times and i don't think we have ever taken any more than about 4 or 500

Be about the same this time with people being scared of catching a cold

I’d be disappointed with less than 1200 personally. First game of the season, first game back in the championship, first away game for a while.

Agree with Phil that we never take many to Bristol - don’t know why but we just don’t.

imagine we might top 1000 this year as people won’t be away.

if you can stop over it’s a brilliant city , we stay there when Cheltenham is on and it’s a great place . Loads of good bars and places to eat.

Those going should allow plenty of time as someone I know told me the traffic is horrendous around Bristol as so many heading down to Cornwall .

Got a message back from dawn at the ticket office. They haven’t received the Bristol City tickets yet but we announce details about fans getting them when they do. They are busy sorting Burnley friendly and Middlesbrough cup tickets. I worry that all matches including Us v Bristol City could easily be affected by Covid. UTMP

Remember getting caught up in balloon festival traffic a few seasons ago when Taz got sent off.
We drove the last 5 miles on the hard shoulder following other seasiders and still missed the kick off.
I guess the increased traffic traveling to Cornwall and Devon may cause similar problems so set off very early.

Not a journey I'll be making in August you get hit with the traffic going and coming back.
Ten hours it took me to get back from Cornwall and that was September and pre pandemic.

Anyone any hotel recommendations? Currently booked in at Holiday Inn Express Filton but no idea how far from ground that is......

Just driven back from Bristol to Durham this evening. On the way down I went down the M1 to Northampton and A43 to Oxford and then across the Cotswolds (some nice pubs - to drive past) and got there in just over 4 hours; came back up the M5 tonight and took virtually the same time. Good alternative and the M5 on a Saturday morning is a mare, take my word. I am staying in Bristol on Friday for this.

Real shame the opener was at Brizzle - we're heading to Cornwall the following week and can't say I fancy effectively the same journey twice in a week!

Just booked a site in Bristol, for motorhome, for weekend, can't wait, 1st game of the season, always look forward to it, friendlies don't mean a thing.

Probably do the two league home games and then Bournemouth by train. Get the train to Pokesdown if you are travelling to that one by public transport.

Not been to Bristol City for years since the away end where your knees used to go above your neck when you sat down! Is it much better these days?

as the wee man says we never take more than 6-700 and this year will be no different. I’m giving it a miss as doing Bournemouth (weekender) just after and can’t really afford both.

Anyone remember Bristol in August about 20-years ago, not sure if it was the first game of the season but a nice hot day where we managed to get 2 players sent off in about 15-minutes the Collins and someone else I can't remember. Leaving us with Paul dalglish the lone striker . For some reason I still stay to the end, funny what football can do to you isn't it.

Any idea how many tickets we are getting allocated ?

The one and only time I've been to Bristol city
was when Eamon O'Keefe put one in the top corner from outside the box..what a fantastic goal it was...must have been about 1985/6 season...

Took just over 800 in 2012 and we beat 'em 3 -1, up there as one of my favourite away days

Proper old school wooden seats with literally only the seat, I remember them chanting to us a typical "Blackpool's a shit hole" and all that jazz, we responded with "your seats have no backs, your seats have no baaaacks, Blackpool's a shithole, you're having a laugh!"

Last time I went to Bristol City, it was the balloon festival, we got stuck in loads of traffic and didn't arrive there until half time and think we lost 2-0 😠

Bristol City fan here with the local info for Saturday week
Please buy your tickets in advance,
in season 2019/2020 there was NO PAY ON THE DAY just hoping this might be changed although I think covid might have an say on the matter.

Coming by road.
There is no baloon fiesta this season
Bristol grinds to a halt in the summer time so set out VERY early or make a weekend of it and stay at weston super mare or Bristol itself
Parking is normally in the streets around the area as long as you are there by 1pm please don't block drive ways or park on corners.

TRAINS,don't let having to catch a bus replacement service from Bristol Parkway to Bristol Temple meads/Parson street put you off coming by train, still think it will be quicker that travelling by road.
If you are coming down by train,an appeal to purchase the tickets to PARSON STREE station. Its the same price and it gives us ammunition to
get better facilities for the official train station for Ashton gate

Casualty and Holby City were filmed in the City don't ask me about either of the programmes cos I think their both rubbish
The young ones was also filmed in the BS7 area of the City(actually its Bishopston)
Finally the block of flats on the left behind the dolman stand side as you are in the away end is "the" block of flats in "fools and horses"
Bring your camera and turn up early if you want to take any photo's
Pubs possibly best one are in the cumberland road basin area novia scotia pump house and the cottage.
No official match day programmes were printed at the tail end of the 2019/20 season
Clubs don't have to produce a match day programme any more ,I hope this will be altered this season
BBC Radio station is radio Bristol which has frequencies and 94:9 and DAB (and 95:5 up till 3pm),
with full match day commentary on BBC radio Bristol DAB.
Pubs: best ones are along the Cumberland Roads area, suggest park your car and then walk to the ground.
If you need any further info, don't be afraid to ask

I was at that one TP. Staying in Bradford-on-Avon I got a train to Bristol, did some good ale pubs, took photos of SS Gt. Britain, went to the match, bus back, couple of pubs, train, back to the B&B. Good stuff.
