Tickets for Huddersfield Away

When I was in the shop t'other week there was a guy trying to buy tickets for the Burnley game who took at least 20 mins of the staffs time because he needed to sit down and the staff didn’t know the layout of the stand, it was comical listening to the conversation 🤣🤣!
Stood for those 20 mins I am assuming? 🙄 Probably went home distraught at the inconvenience they were causing other people in the queue due to being highly considerate of the needs of others.

Not trying to be funny, but can they not work that out for themselves on the day? Be an adult and identify where to sit?
The problem is at the moment we have a huge mish mash of what people think happens.
Some think if you want to sit go to the front, others want to stand at the front for 'limbs' if we score, others think it's allocated seating, others just do what they want. So unless there's something in place it'll never work like that.

Was he being served by Dunno?😄

If they are stood/sat somewhere and a load of people come and position themselves there who they don’t want to be around for fear of if we scored or chanting I would just go and move, like an adult. They can do the same.

This idea of us allocating seats and spoon feeding people isn’t right.

We’ve got a loud & vociferous away support, we should be encouraging this, not pandering to the few.

The ironic thing is, the people who want their seats allocating are the ones calling the people who want to just go and find any old spot selfish.

You couldn’t make it up.

You can tell who the SLO’s circle of friends are for this to be high on the agenda. It’s an away game, not a Saga holiday.

That's the plan. We went there last season.
Jeez Wiz. Have you come up on the lottery?
Both Head of Steam and Kings Arms are very convenient meeting places.
However, the beer quality was not as good last Boxing Day as I used to remember it.
And, worse still, (remember we’re in Yorkshire,) the prices have shot up!!!
Forwards 25 yds out of the Station, turn right and there’s a ‘Spoons on your left.

Oops! Forgot to add: it’s still Henghan.

I'm just trying to be a voice of reason. You see aggro sometimes and it just seems so unnecessary if there's a way round it. If its not to be then so be it. Ultimately it won't really effect me.

Good point. At a game the most you have to stand is aprox 45 mins with a nice break in between.

But nothings stopping people having a rest or two, sitting down in the halves to take the weight off. A little break here and there and you're standing less than the bloke did in the ticket office with no issue.

Sometimes you can still see the game whilst sat down, if not do it when you need to or when there's a break in play which there are many.

At worst you miss a few minutes of the game.

If they can't stand for 10 minutes with breaks then they have to seek out the areas where they can.

I have managed to get a seating plan for the Huddersfield away end from my nephew who contacted the their ticket office, with blocks 5 & 6

Great in principle, but maybe not so much on Matchday. It feels like a potential flashpoint to me.

The very least we need here is for the online and ticket office systems to be in synch…

And the fact is at high demand games people will just buy up whatever tickets they can get their hands on regardless.

I don’t have an issue with trying to sort something out… Personally a basic unwritten rule and guidance for sitters get there early and to use the front rows makes most sense to me…. Or maybe, if possible, allocate front rows for seating instead of a block.
Why should people have to get there early? People who want to stand have no legitimate right or reason to do so anywhere in a stand.

So why try and find reasons why they have the right to stand in a dedicated area for people who want to sit down for whatever reasons?

It's very simple you follow rules or fuck off and stand in another area where people are standing like I have to do to sit down so I can see the match.
So why should an unwritten rule that people in one area stand up all of the game not be allowed to be used in the same way by people who want to be seated?

If the majority in an area that's been deemed sit must you sit?
If the majority of the area outside that seated area(which is usually everywhere) are standing and you want to be seated it's probably tough luck.

You want it all ways up defending standing like you are in your argument and using it will cause trouble as leverage.

They don’t ‘have’ to do anything.. I’m just suggesting that if you want to have a choice of seat, then it makes sense to get there in plenty of time. It takes time to find your seat, the Stewards are often clueless and once it gets crowded it’s all much harder.

It’s up to you whatever you want to do…

I’m not saying a seating area will cause trouble (although it might)… I’m saying promising people something or guaranteeing it, when your systems and those at the away ground aren’t set up to deliver on your promise is likely to cause more problems than it solves.

AK: I'm not doing this for a 'circle of friends' but for fans (many of whom I don't know) who really wish to sit at games (for whatever reason). I was asked by the Club and by supporters' groups to try and find an inclusive solution when the odds are stacked against it. Every Blackpool fan should be able to watch and support their team without prejudice or hassle (without having to arrive early, without having to stand if they struggle to do so, etc). And FYI my ST is at the back of D block so I can stand without obstructing anyone's view, and I stand at away games.

Love it, fair doos, glad you go in the North can you find out about the outside bar for Saturday please 😊

They can watch their team btw, they just need to find their own spot where they can see 🤣👌🏼

So you were asked by BSA?

I wonder if other clubs have a mushroom group like we have

I'm guessing it wasn't an issue for these lot during the boycott years

Now it is as we have a young and vibrant away following, long may it continue

@SLO_BFC

Can I just clarify (as I buy all my away tickets online). Do I need to email the club now to opt out of the seating area every time I buy my tickets or do sitters have to email the club to opt in ?

I tend to buy my tickets online after work so there would be no response until tommorow earliest and talk about overloading them potentially...

What about when we get tickets for a big away game or that'll fly off and you have to be fast, I'm not messing around waiting for emails. Imagine people missed out waiting for a response, they aren't going to wait.

Having all the standing and probably more singers together might improve the atmosphere in that area and the others might be more inclined to join in or it might worsen it as instead of being surrounded by people singing, there's less of it so they don't get as involved.

Who knows. Not saying all who sit don't get involved but generally from the west and south there's less involvement and thats where the sitters are likely to be from.

You don't need to email the club. And this arrangement is Huddersfield-specific. But Sarah has now set up a 'family block' online so people can now book seats in Block 6 without having to contact the BFC ticket office. ;)

At least it's online as well so is clearer now.

The only issues being when the others sell out people will have to pick that one. Once people stand in it all behind have to. Also it's only just been changed and some maybe have already bought for that area?

Let's see how it goes I guess.

Where abouts is the family stand bit located, surely it would have to be to the right hand side? Seeing as there's 3 areas... is it a full third for sitting....?

Sounds awful to be honest, a family block at away games

Stop trying to spoil the away experience

I’m looking forward to seeing where they’ve picked 🙈

It's fcuking weird

What a club we are, probably the best away atmosphere since the 80s and people are tying their best to spoil it
We’re a game away or so from people complaining saying it’s too noisy.

Pathetic it is 👎🏼

This block won’t do much supporting and moan like fook slagging off players and tactics.

No one will have bought for that area. The system is weird. You buy ticket 1 or 2 or 3 etc online then the club allocate a physical ticket with a seat number to that.

So anyone who already bought is only in the mysterious 'area 1' or 'area 2' - not allocated to a specific block yet.

If its a full third then there won't be that many wanting to sit so will end up with loads standing in there...
It’s just going to create needle between fans who dare to stand in this area not knowing it’s a “family block”- what even is this nonsense at an away game ?!

You’ll have the Milk monitors telling people they have specifically chose this block and probably listing what’s wrong with them and it’s just nonsense to even create this to pacify the Victor Meldrew brigade.

I haven’t ruled out them allocating them the block next to Hudds fans though. Wouldn’t shock me 😂

So when I bought area 2 for Burnley, not knowing if that meant in the middle vertically or horizontally... it did mean the middle as thats where it was.

So anyone who picks area 3 before this change isn't in area 3....?

It's area 51 isn't it. I knew it.... 👽

See, I picked area 2 thinking it was the middle and it wasn't at all.

Where there 3 areas for Huddersfield previously? I only got mine an hour ago and there was 1,2 and 'family'

I got area 1 but I've no idea what I've chosen. I assumed there were two areas and ticket office added a third.

Who the fuck knows?

Sometimes stewards won't let you into certain entrances or there are two tiers and things like that. It's mad how it gives you choice but the choice is meaningless.

Red blue or blue pill?

Tha would be mad, a bit like this maybe....

Maybe some of these were allocated those seats and stayed there until it kicked off.

It was the middle as in height, or thats how it seemed.

Can't remember much about the Huddersfield arrangement apart from the entrance led you to the area and we seemed to be let through that way only, but technically once in you could go along the rows should you wish I guess.

Either way I have an image of this family section and they're all really angry pointing and shouting as one man stands in the middle of them all, Phil. But they aren't mad enough to stand up. 😀

Hudds is easy enough it's just half of one end with no real barriers or owt. I more meant them grounds where there's literally different areas and the ones where they check you ticket on each entrance.

Just imagine if Phil gets there late and there's one spot left in the entire stand and it's right in middle of that block 🤣

Well Blackburn away it was shit but good, most loyal fans up top first. Tbf I enjoyed it up there and better for the atmosphere as its near the roof. But many wanted the lower and didn't get it, some waited some didn't.

It's weird about the illusion of choice we get, even though people go anywhere anyway, but you get to choose then it often means very little.

He might be able to get them all chanting his name, you never know.

Blackburn away was great last year for atmosphere. I'd always prefer to be on top tier or at the back, I like the feel of crowd in front of me. Also, your less likely to be photographed gurning...

I was near front of top tier and I spent most of the game on edge cos a pissed girl kept leaning over the wall at the front.

Ive said it before, its far easier if EVERYBODY sits down in their allocated seats. There would then be zero problems, everybody can see and everybody knows where to sit. Dead east and everything would be orderly.

Of course the real solution is to have seperate standing and seated areas like there used to be in the south stand /paddock for example, then there wouls be no conflict at all and everybody would be happy. I would be in the seats.

Does anyone know if area 1 is sitting or standing ??

And this is the problem, this needs an orderly system. As its an all seater ground, the default position should be everbody to sit, unless they can organise an area towarda the back where people can stand.
