Tiredness and the play-offs

I thought that some of our players looked a little tired and jaded last night. This got me on to thinking about the play-offs and which teams will be fresher and/or which will be more tired.

despite last night. I still think that the depth of our squad could be a blessing for us if/when we get to the play-offs. We have had our fir share of injuries but if some of them return in the next few weeks they will be a bit fresher. We have Ekpiteta?, Madine?, stewart? Coming back and quite a few midfielders available. Our attack worries me, especially if Madine stays injured. Simms and Yates are playing every game at the mo.

Looking at the other contenders though and they are all having a bit of a wobble which hopefully is due to their tiredness. Sunderland have lost 2 on the trot, Pompey cant score, Doncaster have gone, Lincoln had a wobble (pity we couldn't hang on to make it worse for them). Ipswich and Charlton have levelled off. Oxford are the new form team but are running out of games.

Hopefully this all plays to our favour and we do our usual romping home in the play-offs.

Up the pool

Lincoln seem to be getting all their big players back for the run in. Just hope we actually make the playoffs to get the likes of Marv, Husband, Stewart, Anderson and Madine back!

The worrying thing about Lincoln is they were on that horrendous run of form, then after these two weeks they came back from 2 down against us to snatch a draw and then absolutely smashed MK Dons. You'd imagine that is the start of some momentum for them going into these last games/the play-offs.

Sunderland's wheels may have come off, they've bottled automatic completely.

I agree we looked a bit jaded.
I also noticed, especially early on, that Jerry wasn't pressing the Accy keeper and back three in their penalty box. Our press was a lot nearer the halfway line whn it was too late.
I don't know if this was tiredness or tactical. In other games pressing on the edge of the oppostion penalty area has served us well. Accy certainly disrupted us with that tactic.

I don’t think so - look at the stats for both games, absolutely dominant

I do think if we could somehow gain the lead against them they might become very frustrated
From what I read on their forum earlier, Wyke has stopped banging them in for them and that has hindered them massively. They mustn't have goals anywhere else on the pitch, so they're a bit toothless now!

Our defensive record is brilliant this season so hopefully we can keep him at bay then if he's off form. I'd agree with you there, the pressure is on them massively now and if we get a goal it'll multiply.

Well, whilst our defence is good, theirs is better (conceded 33)

and their away record = 38 points from 10 wins, 8 draws and until Tuesday night one away defeat ALL season (now 2) - I think the pressure is on both teams

Good point, well made @O4tonygreen - said the same. Sooner we get these 3 wins which should just about be enough to get us in the Play Offs the better.
