Could we have potentially got rid of the best midfielder we would have had for this season? Could we had done more to keep him? We chose Norburn over Trybull but was that the best decision? Thoughts

Trybull tried to use us to get back into English football. Didn't work for him.. unlucky

when he was on the pitch he was mustard (too short a time with injuries). He was a step up from Norburn and dare I say it, Kenny! it was clear he was a big earner and he was needed off the wage bill hence the reason for him being bombed out of the club, Hope he has a great time in the middle east.

Possesses neither the right desire or hunger to be anything but a waste of talent. Silly boy.

He's currently earning 1600 pounds a week in Denmark. In comparison, Calum Connolly earns £6400 a week. According to Salary Sport.

Trybull didn’t want to play for us. Bad attitude, obviously didn’t think about how we could have helped him to build his career in England. His loss.
I got the impression it was the other way around - he was very good pre-season and then left out of the squad forst match - we need to ask the Manager what happened !?

Who really knows, right? Perhaps they had a fall out, perhaps he was completely part of the managers plans, but then his attitude was bad in training… they could have had a fall out, it could have been from both sides, maybe, maybe not.

Just a shame really. Wasted opportunity for both I think, as he definitely had ability and would’ve done a job in this league if he’d have kept fit and got on with the squad.

He could also just ended up like many of our players do, have a purple patch is going to be to catalyst for promotion then have a couple of shockers and he’s fuckin shit that Trybull…

Connolly is stealing a living on his wages. Who gave him such a high contract, couldn't make it up.
We'd have been knackered for the start of two Championship seasons without Connolly at RB.

Lay off the bloke, far many who've stole a living with us who've hardly played whilst being on the treatment table(Kevin Bloody Stewart).

He's Mr Dependable and a warrior plays many positions and always tries to do his best just what every squad needs a utility player.

Can't fault his attitude but I seriously question his ability.

Think Casey has earned a new contract so will be more than that.
If true maybe Dembele is not out of reach, and Carey and Lavery deserve more

Based on what? Give Lavery 6,500 pounds per week not including incentives is 338,000 per annum. What do you think is fair for his kpis’? How much value does he create to warrant that salary? For me he’d have to create just over a million in value and that is why the only way I’d pay that would be modest base with attractive incentives. Too many are paid for nothing and that never ends well.

Disagree Callum has played RB,LB,DM and both sides of CH that takes a certain amount of ability to be able to play all those roles.

As a sub his versatilety means space for more forward types on the bench(if available) he's even been asked to switch positions several times when someone has gone off injured during a game.

Is he brilliant in any of the roles no a 6/10 steady but having someone like Connolly in your squad must be a managers dream.

If it is 6,400 a week worth every penny.

I don't doubt he tries his best, but I've said it ever since he signed. If he's part of the first XI, we're not good enough.

Squad player at best.

Wow, glad you aren't in charge of the budget! He has good attitude and versatility but he lacks ability. I'm sure he is a decent bloke and I appreciate that he is also generally free from injury and puts his body on the line but he is flat footed, often caught out of position, not very quick or good in the air, doesn't pass well and lacks imagination and composure when he gets forward.
Apologies if you are related to him, I don't want to be too critical but that's what I see, he is worth nowhere near £332,800.00 a year.

Unless anyone of you have played the game at a good level you wouldn't realise how good of a player he is.

If he's the benchmark for a league 1 utility, squad player earning £6,400 a week then I can see why I've started to fall out of love with football.
I hope you don't have strong opinions on films, food, or politics unless you've got an Oscar or a Michelin star and at least been elected mayor of a medium sized town!

He signed when we were a Championship side and free which surely must be considered in someone's wages?

For League 1 wages agreed it's a lot but Championship no.

Another irony with Gabriel being injured and Lyons having personal issues if we'd have played a back 4 Connolly would have started the season off at RB for the third season in a row!

Frightening thought! Not his fault that he is.overpaid but somebody should've inserted a relegation clause if he is still on championship money.

Who said he was the benchmark? obviously you have never played with silly comments like that.

Spent all summer flirting with Norwich desperate to get back in their setup. Good riddance.
