Sometimes people you expected to perform poorly come up with the goods ... Tom Cruise certainly fits that criteria in this film

Don’t Joe. It’s cheesy - yes! Cliche - yes! But the best film I’ve seen in years (perhaps that’s thanks to covid - but still..)
I thought it’d be crap, Tom Cruise et al were bloody fantastic. In fact we’re going again to see it!

Watched it last night and must say I was rather disappointed in it to be honest.
The nuclear enriched fuel bunker they attacked didn’t even have a country name just rebels which I thought was rather silly.
The pilots constantly slam the throttles in to reheat sorry just doesn’t happen like that in the real world.
That Tomcat they nicked towards the end how did they know it was serviceable? How did they know it was fuel/armed up as they never checked it just jumped in it and away they sent.
Some of the flying (flying down that valley) was better than Star Wars which is itself a joke.
Tom Cruise must have ejected at about Mach 2 yet he didn’t even have a scratch on him anyone that did that would suffer serious back/legs problems but hey ho not our Tom.
Even the rebel aircraft were American.
There were loads more things not right but I won’t bore you with all the details.

Agree bought 40 back then and most are still serviceable today so it be would have been far better had they named the rebels the Iranians and not just rebels.
