Toughest one to take?

It's Tuesday.
Since the referee blew the whistle on Saturday, I just haven't been in the mood for anything Blackpool-related.
Not read any news, not any matchreports and not been on here to read or write
It just blew me completely empty...those final minutes... :(

It was the same after the Huddersfield-loss, where Gabriel was not my favourite the next couple of days..
But was this a bigger suckerpunch?

I think it's wise to look at the bigger picture, albeit easy to say haven't gone, but we're safe from relegation.

Now it's up to Critch and the board to see what we can do to progress next season and try to get top 10. People need to get the play offs out of their brain this season.

I personally found the Middlesbrough defeat harder to take than Bournemouth, the high of Lavery equalising last minute only to be wiped out in stoppage time was more galling for me. Loads of positives to take from Saturday looking at the bigger picture, only way is up!

Don't think anything will compare to the Bradford play off defeat in 96 though tbh

There are a few losses this season at home that have left their mark on me for different reasons that have been difficult to come to terms with:
Huddersfield - 15 minutes of 2nd half madness
Luton - we were awful that day but I put it down to being December when we often seem to be crap
Middlesbrough - played well that night and more than deserved a point only to see it snatched away in the 96th minute by a terrible mistake
Bournemouth - played extremely well and battled hard for the majority of the game only to run out of steam in the last 10+minutes and concede 2 late goals with the winner coming in the 95th minute

It was indeed sickening and still hurts but it really is important looking at the bigger picture. We were narrowly beaten by a recent premier league side with a squad costing 100 mil plus. We are not safe yet but we will be very soon. Middlesbrough game was even more difficult to take.

We’re not going down, not even close. Critch will have read this message board post Bournemouth, taken on board his tactical mistakes and we can now look forward to a future of never conceding again after taking the lead👍🏻😂

The Middlesborough game more than anything shows us not doing the first post in games, and how vital it is as discuessed on a thread last week.
Just after our equaliser, we attack on the right, cross comes in (at first post as always) and we have noone there to put the ball in the back of the net (as always).
Then 20 seconds later, Boro attack on the right after the Mitchell-mistake, put the ball in the box (first post as most other crosses), they have a man there (which we ourselves still haven't found out is effective), and he puts it in the back of the net....almost 2-1 becomes 1-2 down to this little detail.

I don't dear looking at the table if these defeats vs Hudders and Boro had been the other way around.
In fact, I haven't looked at the table since Saturday 4:30pm

No, I was not.
My first live Blackpool-game was Crewe (a) in 2006
However - I was at the Wet Spam final at Wembley in 2012, which was as tough as it gets.
This topic was meant for this season - I suppose a relegation-match must be the worst possible game to lose.

It says a lot how far we've come to be this dissapointed loosing to a top side heading for the PL.

Have to say, ending aside, I really, really enjoyed the Bournemouth game. We were excellent and their £90 odd million worth of players just had a bit too much skill and guile in the end. We were also unlucky. Relish the rest of this season. We are not going down and have some fascinating games to look forward to. And we could still end up in the play-offs...

If it was meant for this season you should have stated it pal👍🏻
I've lived through far worse than last Saturday watching Blackpool 🤷‍♂️

Yeah, I might have been more precise about that
In my mind I was writing about this season, so it was clear enough for me :)

In the history of BFC, this will be a nothing-game.
So Bradford, Wet Spam and lest not forget the Barnet-game where we took 150.000 is there for the making :)

Before the Bournemouth game I said to my mate that if we win this, we may have the impetus for a play off push. Just a few points off the top 6. Losing feels like a season defining moment. I was only following the game during a day cycling in Andalusia, which means the pain was massively reduced obviously! But it still hurt and it kind of ruined the day! The evening anyway. You never know, with Stewart back and CJ and Josh turning into superheroes before our eyes we may go on a run! But it seems unlikely now, especially with Marv sidelined.

And it does feel a bit too soon, we are morphing into a good Championship side but it's exactly that, a season of transitional morphing. Which is going really well. We are in a good place. 👍

The Dobster at Wembley, of all people. Haunts me to this day, and I now know it always will. I know it was the beginning of the end for the O’s, but there was so much on it on the day.

The Derby game was the toughest one to take for me this season just for how bad we played. I can stand playing well and losing like saturday and the Boro game but that game hurt I never watched football nor read about it for a week I was totally fed up with it.

Long after the pain of conceding a couple of spawny goals has gone I'll remember Bowler's wonder strike and that shit penalty of theirs 😂

Brentford away. The 78/79 season, I think. We were two up at half time, managed to lose 3-2. It suddenly dawned on me how far we had fallen. There have been many worse defeats, and countless long journeys home with plenty to brood about. But that was the first one that really hit me hard.

It's a measure of success not failure that everyone feels so dissappointed with Saturdays outcome.

We outplayed the second best side in the division and not for the first time home or away the big guns have been more than matched.

A hiding is coming somebody's way soon from Pool.

I hope so but ourdefensive steel need reinforcing and upping the authority when in the lead as we tire - not easy but less panic, more possession after 85 mins please

We haven’t looked really dominant at the end of a match since Swansea away

Yeah that was the one for me ..think the swear box paid for this year's holiday that night!
