Training ground planning permission due this week ?

Like previous. Promises promises promises.Thats all we get. Mansford said shovels in the ground straight away all drainage plans etc have been planned.. well well well we will see if there will be a delay 95% sure there WILL BE .

Makes sense to follow it through. One, it doesn't cost, or not much and the land (club) with pp will be worth more.

Looking at Wyre planning site, the required consultations only closed in August.
i also remember seeing some moaning about the access, apparent eyesore and something to do with car parking and a stream.
All takes significant time

Some people are seriously scarred from the past.

Give it chance, we're not under the Oystons any more and have had covid and a cost of living to negotiate.

These are big complicated projects.

The east will happen under the council's timescale I think.

The TG needs to be done cheaper but nothing stopping it being done in stages maybe. The new plans should reveal more.

Planning applications are based on a need and a proof they are required. Not just by the applicant but by the wider community. Feelings, thoughts, opinions are not a factor in opposition. Over development, zero community benefit and disturbance of natural habitat are as well as some visuals but there is always scope to add modern looking facilities into very old areas such as modern structures in old city centres. It doesn't happen overnight. The planning are very intricate down to what grounds maintenance is done, does it promote bio diversity, is the interior of a green make up ( all that carbon zero stuff), objections researched, even as far as material suppliers do make their products correctly ( no slave labour, child labour). Don't be so impatient.
Edit: forgot to mention that certain unamed people get a brown envelope. Very important in negotiations.

Based on that, it’ll never happen.

The current work going on at Common Edge looks like the ideal place for a training ground. The location, access and facilities are coming on superbly well.

I can't think for the life of me why they didn't 'double up' and make it functional for both the football club and facilitate space for multi-use and generate some extra income.

I'm sure it would have cost far less and without the saga of all the red tape regards planning?

Disagree. The planning application can easily fulfill council criteria.
Is there a need? Squires Gate only serves the first team and development squad at best. Aging facilities with minimal off field buildings which are temporary. Add to this the community clubs and youth teams who are using pitches on parks and education centres a new multi pitch facility shows there is a need.
Bio diversity etc? Grounds maintenance will compromise of pitch and off pitch work. Pitch is standard and sport turf products are already subject to stringent MAPP and COSHH control for poisonous products and not over using. Off field there would plenty of scope for perimeter woodland and hedging, wild flower as well as lawns and shrubs.
Modern buildings in wrong place? Plenty of modern housing so no objections there.
It's fairy straight forward. The problem previous is there was never an intention. It was always based on Oyston building houses first and foremost. This training ground needs a financial plan, good vision, good planning and a bit of sweet talking with certain people and it can happen. It needs the finance in place before any holes are dug

“Let’s put something out about the training ground, create some positive noise and then BAM… hit them with season ticket prices.” 🙄
This is just an announcement that planning permission is on it's way soon.

But nowt wrong if clubs do time some info to come out when it matters, when a buzz is needed to be created, all the good news adds up. Makes sense to do so. But probably not what's happening here.

Doesn't mean the intention isn't genuine, these projects take time.

Ironic if they did announce the training ground after all these years, at the moment it would be greeted with a cloud of apathy as we all want other news first!
