Blackpool FC chief executive Ban 🤔 Mansford said: "We know that the people of Blackpool and our fans will be excited to find out more about our plans for the future of the club.

“We are looking forward to meeting with the public and understanding their feedback, which will help shape our plans before we submit a planning application later this year.”

The proposals include eight full-size training pitches, a half-size indoor pitch, a smaller nine-a-side pitch, two smaller goalkeeper training spaces and a new, eco-friendly training centre with classrooms, medical areas, office space and a gym.

There will also be parking for up to 120 cars. Around 40 jobs will be relocated to the new site, with 20 new jobs expected to be created.

The facility will replace the outdated current training ground at Squires Gate Lane and allow the first team and academy players to train at the same venue for the first time.

A statement setting out the club's vision for the development says: "New fit for purpose training facilities will provide the set-up we need to compete with rivals and perform at the highest level possible.

"Through the new proposed training facilities, we are laying down the framework required to build upon our recent success and support the club’s ambition to bring Premier League football back to Blackpool."

Consultation sessions are being held on Tuesday July 26 (2.30pm – 7.30pm) at The Matthews Suite, Blackpool Football Club; Friday July 29 (3pm – 8pm) at Poulton-le-Fylde Community Hall; and Tuesday August 2 (2.30pm – 7.30pm) at @ The Grange, FY3 7RW.

Consultation will run until August 5 and people can also view the plans and give feedback at: www.blackpoolfcconsultation.co.uk
Or they can call a dedicated community information line (Monday to Friday, 9.00am – 5.30pm) on 0800 652 9460, or email feedback and questions to blackpoolfcconsultation@havingyoursay.co.uk

Presume this is the training ground for the youth teams and for community use behind the North stand?

It says to replace the existing squires gate training ground
It's the new TG at Garstang Road...

"Views will then be taken into account when the club submits its planning application for development of the Garstang Road site between Blackpool's Grange Park Estate and Baines School in Poulton."

Is the half indoor pitch enough for cat 2 and will the facility be open for stealing back some of our grass roots from poolfoot???

Alright being open and honest about something we've all been waiting for a long time. An update on the here and now from the club, about how we plan to stay in The Championship along with these plans, would be greatly appreciated. Don't mean the" we are close to 3 or 4" we've had to endure for a few weeks.

Smoke and mirrors 🤔
Not sure about that, however Friday night signing would be great for the weekend, with some TG news it could hint they'll be nothing for the weekend.... or it could just be TG news.....

With 1 week to go, 2 decent loans in yes but no permanent deals and no rb still, bar youth players.

It's not a great window so far.

Think I’ll pop along on 26th to and give them feedback and suggestions to make it more visually appealing.
Assume there will be a cafe / restaurant / bar area?

Some timings at last:

Following the conclusion of our public consultation, we will take time to carefully consider your feedback.

- July 2022 - Public Consultation.
- August 2022 - Consider feedback and refine proposals.
- September/October 2022 - Finalise plans and submit planning application.

Once the application has been submitted, the Council will commence its own formal consultation on the proposals.

It is expected that the application will take approximately 13 weeks to be determined. It will then be considered by
members of Wyre Council's Planning Committee.

————————————————

So all being well, BFC should have approval of refined planning application by Dec 22 / Jan 23 (more likely).

This is good news, moving forwards nicely and what a difference from the bad old days. Not sure about the alien footballers we appear to have recruited in the picture, then again, they might be so good we’ll be over the moon.

Good grief. Your moans and groans have been done by all and sundry on many other threads.

We are aware of recruitment concerns. Can’t we just leave this thread to discuss the progress and possible limitations of the new facilities.

Yeah and some off the brown cladding could be done in tangerine and white.
This was my thinking. Why clad in brown? It mentions in the blurb about blending with the local environment, but tbh it’s near a load of schools and houses. It’s not like it’s in the middle of an area of natural beauty. 😄
If you look at Poolfoot for example, the designers have used red and black from the Fleetwood colours. Not over the top either. Done quite tastefully. Also, not a hint of any connection to the ‘Seasiders’. An arty wave or two wouldn’t go amis. 😀

Am sure they'll be some nice touches/ signage like a SG, it's only an artists impression.

New facility - brilliant.
8 full size pitches outside?
This is Blackpool. It's on the coast. It rains sideways. It blows an absolute gale.
One half size pitch inside. I would say Full size indoor pitch is Essential.
Half size pitch - does it stop at the half way line? 🤣

Also, nice to see SS input with the tangerine car in the foreground.
