All transfers used to say subject to a medical and they still are, but it is just common practice and isn't stated anymore.

Yeah I know mate. It's just I don't think we could commit to the targets unless Bowler went, hence it's possible we instigated the medical.

Why would he be happy he’s just lost out on a potentially massive pay increase. Players like to seize these opportunities while they can, who’s to say he won’t pick up an injury that could change his career. Not a nice thought but it happens

He also knows he will eventually command a far greater fee or do what most players do and see out his contract and make an absolute mint on signing without a transfer fee. Not all players seize the day. Indeed most intelligent young people dont go for instant gratification. Bad injury would affect anyone - he will have premium insurance be assured of that.

He’s at a club having probably taken a significant pay cut. Wages at Forest or Bournemouth would be at least 3 to 4 times what he’s on and that’s without even mentioning the abomination that is Squires Gate.
