Trusty’s injury

Hopefully this isn’t a bad one for a lad at the start of his career.

Songo’o certainly looked like he was apologising to him at the time and to Critchley after the final whistle.

They guy doing the commentary was a bit out of order at first, saying he has stayed down because he lost control of the ball. Changed his tune when he saw the stretcher coming out.

Hoyland is a bit of a dick to be honest… Hos go to position seems to be that everyone who goes down is diving and that the refs should wave play on for anything other than a punch up.

He’s like sone kind of 1970’s throwback

Shocking commentary from Hoyland. He accused the lad of cheating because he'd lost the ball and said he should get up and stop play acting.

Completely misread the situation.

He's not like one, he is one. His whole game was based on clattering through the back of forwards.

Their no. 5, Rawson was in Critchley's face because he had the temerity to complain about what was a spiteful, cowardly foul. For you that watched it on TV did it look as bad as what it did from the pitch side? The biggest noise of the evening from the crowd was the booing of the dirty git Songo'o as he went off.

No, from the TV angle it looked pretty innocuous and I just figured it was a bit of a tap on the ankle. I haven't seen a slow motion of it but I am assuming Critchley has. Let's be honest, Neil is a pretty calm fellow, so if it had him angry, it must have been quite bad.

I think Critchley made the right decision not risking the likes of Joseph last night. Trusty got unlucky - the injury was unpredictable and the tackle looked aggressive.

I wouldn’t be surprised if someone had a brief word with Hoyland after making a fool of himself.

Hoyland apologized straight away.

He made a mistake.....and frankly who wouldn't these days with players rolling around one minute like they've been shot then running around like a spring chicken the next.....
He did apologise, but he says the same thing every time a Blackpool Player goes to ground. Said something similar about a foul on Connolly on the previous game he’d co-commented on.

There’s also an awful lot of these big clodhoppers who just go around kicking players and tripping them up as well. For example Dembele regularly gets sythed down ..

Cheating on both sides of the equation

I watch as much football as anyone and players DO feign serious injury.
Lisbie last night, rolling around in "agony"…...then a miracle, he jumped up and took a penalty.
It happens in every game.
Why do you think the authorities brought in the 30 second rule?

Hoyland spoke to soon but I can 100% relate to his synicism, the problem, caused by this play acting comes when a serious injury such as that Trusty suffered happens.
It's the "cry wolf" syndrome and the players have only themselves to blame.
I forget who it was we were playing a few weeks ago, but the ref basically fucked a couple of our opponents players off with their play acting and told them to get up....
The men's game needs to take a leaf out of the women's game who when kicked don't do this pitch thumping rolling around thing when they get kicked, they get up and get on with it, although it is sneaking in there too.

It was Peterborough…👍

An apology doesn’t always cut tbh. The mere fact that you thought and said it is sufficient to show that you ain’t fit to have the responsibility you are given. Apologies can be very cheap for too many people.

Peterborough were the worst for it I have seen this season, the ref eventually got the message and started to ignore their players when they went down so called injured .

Says someone who hasn't done ANYTHING wrong obviously, as an apology doesn't cut!!
Well done for being whiter than white👍🏻

I went to Edinburgh by train for work the morning after a Champions league night. Robbie Savage was sat on the next table on his phone for most of the journey talking about how he had called out in commentary an Arsenal player for feigning in an incident where he ended up being stretchered off with a broken leg. Think it was Fabregas. Robbie seemed pretty sheepish.

Had a good chat with him about Blackpool too

From gerzette
On Tuesday night, the Seasiders claimed a 2-1 victory over Morecambe in the EFL Trophy. A downside from the game was a serious injury to Tayt Trusty, with the youngster stretchered off in the second half. “It’s not good,” Critchley explained. "There’s a fracture there, he’s broken his leg- which is not nice for any young player. "It’s really unfortunate. He’ll get all the support he needs from all of us.”

Gutted for him. Speedy recovery and hopefully he’ll come back stronger.
Must feel like the end of the world as a young pro when you get an injury like that. All those months of inaction stretching ahead. I always thought Brett was a better player when he came back after his leg break. Lost none of his speed neither. It would be good for Tayt if Brett, as a Pool hero, could find some time to have a chat with him.

You're completely right about Brett . I remember saying to my son , don't expect too much from him for a while . How wrong I was , he was on fire from minute one . And that was after a double compound fracture .

Absolutely gutted for the lad, he has the makings of a first team player here so if you're reading this young man, keep positive, do everything they tell you and come back stronger, I expect to see you in a tangerine shirt in the first team squad next season.

Seems the TV feed didn't pick up the player's reactions, the scream from Tayt or the palpable feelings in the stand that it wasn't a good challenge at all?

So sorry to hear that. Tate Trusty looks like someone who will be a player and a half. If it is any consolation I remember walking across Bloomfield Road with a young Brett on crutches - and only few years later this was what he was doing. Keep up your spirits Tate. You will be back stronger.

So did he, he retracted his statement straight away and apologised. Now I don't him from Adam.
If that was aimed at me , yeh I've made loads of mistakes and given many genuine apologies.
