It was a two hour conversation with Stephen, which was across quite a wide brief (as you'd expect with the NYT) and we did chat about the allegations.
FWIW and I might be being charitable; but I think it's more likely that the governance stuff which is massively important has allowed poor decision making rather than out right fraud - but I could be wrong - especially given what has happened nationally with Covid contracts.
And again, I think TVCA has sacrificed transparency and process to get as much as possible done - and that opens up the space for the accusations by the likes of Andy McDonald to be legitimately in the public interest and not simply dismissed as politicking - it's far from that.
We will only find out if there is a change of Mayor and a full police investigation - which might require a new police and crime commissioner and Home Secretary - all of which are possible (likely) in the next 6 months I suppose.
