Tv license up £10

It's fantastic value. Superb documentaries, quality radio.
Most younger people barely watch live TV or listen to the radio, completely outdated system.

Although there are some good programmes occasionally.

Why should people pay for something they might not use?

They could at least do an option with adverts for free and those who wish to pay to avoid them or wish to support it can do so.

Saying all that I still have one and watch things occasionally and use iplayer, but it's an outdated system really.

It's worth every penny and should of gone up by the bigger increase.
Sick of the Tory/ Daily Mail agenda against the BBC .
How many people moaning about paying for something you don't use load the firestick up for 50 quid a year that basically pays for nothing?

How many Mugs don’t?

I don’t pay the licence fee anyway so not bothered about the price. There’s nothing they can do about it. The people they send round once every blue moon have zero authority. Just refuse to answer any questions and tell them to get off your private property….they have no legal right to be there.

Theres enough people pay it to keep them going and if they want to save a few extra quid then sack Leftie Lineker

Except its not just about the bbc is it, even if your aerial is plugged in they claim you have to pay, despite 'paying' for the other channels through adverts which you should be entitled to watch.

You could legitimately never watch bbc content but should be perfectly entitled to put the aerial in the TV and watch everything else.

Yet they'll try make you pay and fine you for doing so, if someone were to fall for their bullying tactics and let them in that is.

They could easily put a tiered system of pricing in place for those who wished to use it and even add averts to bbc to make it cheaper or free. Full paying customers could continue to avoid those adverts online or whatever. I'd take an iplayer option under that scenario but I barely watch live TV yet must pay full whack like the rest.

Can't remember the last time I watched anything on the BBC, maybe a bit of MoTD if there was something special I wanted to see for myself.

Aye, spunk it all on Sky fella, sound decision making 👍

I listen to BBC radio most of the day - 6 music or TMS so great value for me.

Don't watch much TV but most TV I do watch is on BBC too. BBC drama programmes are still as good as ever.

Love the BBC it's time they took on advertisers which would vastly increase revenue and allow for a massive cut in the annual fee.

Adverrisers would pay premium fees to be on the BBC. And most people watch programming that is recorded so adverts would have little impact for the reduction in fee.

I pay it but should get rid. Kids just want streaming services and the only TV I get to watch is the odd documentary in bed which do over URL. Mrs doesn't like the idea of not having the option of 'normal' channels though.

Other channels would probably go bust with the drop in advertising revenue going to the beeb .

Don't mind paying, but some of the wages "presenters" get is disgraceful...

Lineker, to do what he does, should be on no more than 50k, & why do newsreaders (even the paedo ones) get 4-600k? a newsreader for gods sake. thats what boils my piss....

Dont get me wrong, Shearer is a god, but 900k pa for giving an opinion? give him 40k max!!
