As much as we were in control for long periods, today was probably the most disappointing result do far ! They were poor and we weren’t clinical and once they equalised there was mo tempo to play and the last 25 minutes just fizzled away. Big disappointment! Any opinions?

Agreed two points lost - but occasionally these games happen - we have been on the other end of these results before where we have been battered and won .
Ipswich today battered Maidstone but with some bad luck , great saves and missed chances they got beat . We go again

It was one of those days when JR missed the absolute sitter and we hit the post in the first half. Although we dominated play for 70 mins this was always going to be a difficult game after they potted Appleduff this week.

Yes, definitely 2 points lost, but that's football. On another day, Rhodes scores, Joseph scores instead of hitting the bar and their defender doesn't clear off the line. Kaddy still scores and we're 4 goals to the good. Marv sticks out his leg and diverts the ball wide, it's a great block. All very fine margins from yesterday, the results that stick in the craw are Port Vale, home and away, Burton away and I'm sure there are others.

We've been consistently, inconsistent and that doesn't equal promotion. Portsmouth scored an 88th minute winner yesterday from the penalty spot, that's the sort of result that gets you promoted.

With the chances we created, most teams who are up there will put them away and win that game.

As NC said the disappointing thing or to me concerning thing is, when they scored we didn't look like a team that was going to go on, get over the setback and win the game, which a promotion side will do.

If you're going to go up, especially by the playoffs you likey will need that mentality to be able to come back.

Absolutely two points lost. We battered them for the majority of the game. I couldn’t believe it was 0-0 at the break and there was more disbelief when they scored that raggy goal.

The performance was excellent and on another day we’re cruising to victory. If we play like that for the rest of the season we’ve got a chance.

Pool did not offer a serious threat after taking the lead. I reckon they thought “ job done”. In the last ten minutes Charlton missed chances to WIN it !

The issue was the game was that day and we missed a great chance to put pressure on those above and build real momentum. We need to make sure the story of the season isn't on of nearly or just didn't go our way.

The good sides make it go their way by taking the chances.

I think you’re thinking this far too deeply. It’s just not that black and white. Derby took 1 point from 2 away games and didn’t score, Bolton lost to Orient. Currently nobody in L1 is playing better than we are since Christmas. You’re over analysing things.

Probably right, just still disappointed we couldn't claim the deserved 3 points, we move on.

lets just have a look at things after the Stevenage game. we have loads of points to go for. we could even do the double over them/

Two points dropped but it’s consistent with the season we’ve had. We’re not a playoff team as we’re not good enough and people need to process that. The table doesn’t lie - we’re the 8th best team in this division and have been for a long time . Whether you like it or not, that’s the facts and people need to stop thinking we’ve a divine right to be in and around the top two. We’ll need to change something significantly and go on a remarkable run to not only get into but also retain a playoff place and I don’t see that happening based on the season we’ve had and players in the squad. Wish is was different.

I personally think this team is capable of more and we’re for whatever reason not getting the best out of the squad.

We will need to be lucky with injuries to have a chance - same team and performance as yesterday and we’ll make the playoffs

Yep, we just need to squeeze into 6th place on the last day and nobody will fancy playing us. Having said that I hope to be in a playoff place before then. Saturday is crucial, a win would set us up perfectly, we must however avoid defeat.
