Two tier (paid for) NHS - in Scotland!

I read that very senior NHS executives in Scotland are contemplating a two tier (paid for) NHS system in Scotland.

Discussion is also centring around political mandates from the national socialists in charge without the means to implement them.

Not that it will be a problem come independence as they will get tax raising powers - oh I forgot they already do...

Although I'm sure they will spin it as all the English's fault even though they get far more per head than we do.

I do wonder about the leaking of this discussion. It was in a request from the Scottish NHS to its health boards, for radical ideas, oddly the boards requesting decent funding didn't hit the headlines. The Scottish Government has unequivocally ruled it out.

Who has most to gain from this, dare I say, flying a kite? ERG, Bruges Group, Tufton Street?

It's all heading that way, be it privatisation under the covers in the NHS or dentists making more money by turning private. Either we turn to socialism or just keep going on this road of capitalism that only works for an ever decreasing number of filthy rich people.

Hmm so will the wealthy who pay for treatment go to the front of the queue?
Those who pay for treatment always go to the front of the queue wherever you live. Take the Spire hospital in Blackpool as an example. If I want a private consultation this afternoon I can book one. The NHS needs the private sector to take some of the load off it. Having said that, if the Scots impose compulsory payments on patients that will go down like a lead balloon.

Completely agree with you.
The NHS can learn a lot off private medical care regarding control of costs and overheads etc.
