£500k for a young winger at Millwall. Bids been accepted from a League 1 club - ticks all the boxes for me. Hope it’s us ! 6ft tall, quick, can play across the front 3. A real athlete.
 
Not sure I want it to be us, bearing in mind this snippet:-

Of course, people can change, kids mature, but if we're making £500k bids I'd want players who've already got the right mindset.
 
Why is it that we always sign other clubs duck eggs. This coming season will end up with us just floundering around whilst achieving nothing.

Having named names, just remind me again what league we start off in.
Fleetwood were well and truly in the shit then along came Stockley and Marriot and they finished mid table.
What did BFC do, bring in MM.

There’s no mention of £500k in the South London Press story (ie the one that’s worth reading)

Did he play against us at some point and cause some problems?

Wouldn’t rule this one out …

Looking at the Twitter rumour mill, it seems the club to have bid is Reading. I thought they were under an embargo however?!

I still don’t know why Marriott was not recruited. We have been crying out for that kind of goal getter for ages and he was clearly ready to move to the north west. Madness.

"I feel sorry for Burey, the stick he got from a sizeable proportion of our thick fanbase was disgusting. The same fans that continually complain that we don’t give enough young players a chance, well that is what giving them a chance looks like. They are going to sometimes lose the ball or make a mistake in tracking back but that obviously isn’t good enough for fat Alan and his pals in block 43.

Burey isn’t flash or cocky, more the opposite in fact. On a long way trip home from an away game last season Burey was on the train on his own and had a queue of kids stretching down the carriages wanting a selfie with him. He was happy to oblige but you could see he was shy and slightly uncomfortable and when we got back to King’s Cross I noticed he put his hood up and wouldn’t make eye contact with anyone.

I watched him carefully and far from being lazy I realised that he is very much a confidence-led player. The flip side to that is that he has the raw ability to change games when he’s on song, as we saw several times in his short career with us. I don’t think I’ve ever seen the crowd turn on a player so quickly and I’m still baffled as to why. So many times I’ve read fans saying that we need a player with pace who can scare opposition defenders yet we’ve hounded out a player who can do exactly that. Well done all."
