Not yet seen a thread on this but what a huge boost to English football. I didn't get chance to see any of it, but it seems like it was a backs to the wall performance and an exciting game, especially at the ens. A massive congratulations from me and this can only enhance the national team, we've actually now won something again 👍

Although they had more possession, we had the best chances and the penalty save at the death was justice, as there was minimal contact
I saw the final couple of minutes. An excellent double save including the follow up shot to the saved penalty
I believe Liverpool have just sold that keeper for around 19m to Brentford?

And as you suggest, never a penalty

Well done lads

Edit, didn't concede a single goal throughout the tournament, quite an achievement

To Burnley from Man City

Trafford and Colwill will be pushing for a place in the Senior squad if they can get regular starts in the Premier League next season.

Not that it matters but there is a thread below. A number of posters were watching.

But a fabulous achievement. The Spanish were a disgrace and the ref was handing out cards like confetti. Thankfully James Trafford sorted it. 2 brilliant saves

Carsley is an interesting coach. I mentioned it in the other thread; he played at least 4 out of the 11 out of position. Gordon, MGW as strikers, Garner as a RB, Angel Gomes as a CDM...rotated LB's.
If a foreign coach did that, and led his country to victory in a tournament (that other countries have traditionally taken a lot more seriously in terms of making players available) without conceding a goal...we'd be talking about the next Pep.

Haircut aside, I think that's a bit much, but worth watching how his career develops from here.

Brighton have already bid £40m for him after his loan there last season. Liverpool want him too (Colwill)

Once again Chelsea have some amazing academy players who don’t get a sniff at their first team.

You make a strong point here. He doesn’t look like a smooth Riga Revolution coach so big boys will ignore him 😂

With our U19s a while back and now our U21s winning silverware- this is our golden generation. Southgate needs to now take the final step and win us one of the 2 trophies that matter.

For all the downsides of the EPL - the one positive that shines out is how academies have improved and how we generate talented possession based players who are worthy of their place in the first team and not just there to be enforcers.

Well done lads and the save following the poor pen was first class. However, Trafford annoys me the way he throws himself to the ground after collecting the ball. Reminds me of U11s training.

What was the team in 1984 that won it? Be interesting to see how many went on to the England team.

If that's a penalty there would be 20 penalties every game using that as a reference point.
Then apply it all over the pitch and we would then have a non-contact sport......

Full emotions of being a footie fan.
Complete meltdown when ref went to VAR for that shit penalty decision "we never win anything etc etc" then the elation after that double save.
Strangely felt more connected to those lads than Southgate's lot.
