Unity

If we don't win tomorrow, and whatever happens elsewhere, it does feel like we have a bit of unity restored. There will always be those who will hate Critchley but I think the majority (maybe more than when he appointed) will be behind him next season. Get the summer transfers right and importantly get all the ducks in a row by August for a cracking start and I think we'll be in a good place. Season Tickets sales, priced reasonably, should match last summer and in a way I'd sooner have another really good go at this division than be a straggler and struggler in the Championship next season.

I think the word hate is thrown around way too much. I don't think anyone actually hates Neil Critchley, people just dislike his tactics.
Hooray, someone else with a sense of proportion. I have been banging this drum since he was reappointed. I didn’t want Critchley back, I still don’t want him, but I don’t even know the fellow, so why should I hate him. I don’t like his tactics, his boring football, his too late and ineffective substitutions, yes all of the above but hate no. He might be a smashing bloke, just a crap manager.🤣

Correct. On the flip side just because you don’t want him sacked it doesn’t mean you’re a “Crichley lover”.
It’s happens all the time on this forum that one side of the argument like to point to the extremes of the other side just to make their own point more valid.

I don't hate Neil, I didn't like the way he left. I felt he was probably the right man to come back and do it but he'd have hard some hard graft on his hands to win the fans around. Fans are stubborn, he'd probably get us to a CL final and someone still wouldn't like him.

I've said it all season long really, my main issue is when he's stuck to a formation that hasn't worked. We've been 2-0 previously and he's kept the same shape and then like for like players. He's never once tried something different or at least rarely has.

We've had some great home form without getting Bloomfield Road rocking bar the odd occasion, we've shown in small glimpes that this league is utter pony and we could have really challenged but we haven't down to poor recruitment both into the club and out of the club and this rigid formation.

Persisting with players when they are bang out of form, dropping players randomly and playing players in positions they aren't natural at or comfortable with.

Whatever happens tomorrow, we gave it a go when we basically had no chance. The pressure is off, win the game. Enjoy the day. Clap the lads off after a hard difficult at times season. And if the against all odds happen, we all know what occurs next.

Neil has some serious thinking to do over the summer, if he has the same approach with the same sub standard players next season we'll do the same thing. We can't go into next season playing players like CJ/Beesley/Kouassi/Virtue/Lavery and probably more and having to rely on them to be a major difference when simply it's clear they aren't good enough.

It's clear to me that some of these players you mention are good enough and all they need is better supporting players . Kouassi will be a handful next season. Beesley is our top scorer and he has heading ability to feed other players like at least 3 of Rhodes goals , Cj was man of the match against Barnsley and on his day can't be caught and although Lavery has struggled for goals ,he is a work horse and troubles defences . I still maintain the tactics are wrong for some of these players and that still boils down to one man.

Agree with much of that, however Bees has done alright for us this season. I wouldn't have him as a starter but certainly someone good to have around the team and a decent enough back up option for us.

KK is still young and its good to see that Critch has trusted him in certain games. Reading at home and that Liverpool game showed what he is capable of.

We do require a good window of signings whatever league we are in ready for next season, easier said than done I guess.

Erm, a certain Mr Rhodes is our top scorer btw.

But we're winning?
yeah but we are only just winning so that doesn’t count. The same way promotion last time under him doesn’t count because he was lucky he had Calderwood. The same way he kept us in the championship doesn’t count because he was lucky he had McCall.
But those 10 games (or whatever it was) for QPR PROVE he’s a shit manager.

I wish the odd drama queen supporter would cease using the term 'Critchley haters'.
That term exists only in their mind, as no-one hates him and it's insulting to say so.
Numerous supporters are frustrated with how he's managed the squad this season, but whatever the result tomorrow, NC's our manager next season and hopefully we'll play every game like we did for the first 60 minutes against Barnsley.

🤣🤣

We scored 3 goals and got 9 points. That's fantastic efficiency.

I'd probably rate critchley as one of the four best managers we've had in my lifetime alongside Stokoe, Brown & Holloway

But then again we've had some utter dross :- Appleton mk1, Appleton mk2, McCarthy, Grayson mk2, Clarke, Riga and Ince, to name a few

When did he sign for Blackpool ,I was sure he was a loan player , who may not be with us next season.

Why are you excluding a loan player, who has scored the majority of our goals and who most likely WILL be with us next season? Was this a post for nailed on permanent players only? The original post’s title Unity, shouldn’t mean the exclusion of others. Far from it. 🤔

My post was pointing out the positives of Blackpool players that a previous post said we need to get rid of because these players were not good enough . So Beesley is the top Blackpool scorer . We can't get rid of a player that isn't on our books and I am not sure that Rhodes will be signing for us , unless you can see the future.

I do believe I have a modicum of insight. 😉👍🏼
