Vaccine Passport

These are now a reality and can be used to prove vaccination status when travelling abroad and presumably when returning. I've just downloaded the NHS app and the system worked very well for me, it did an identity check and then linked to my GP medical records. It was almost seamless. You end up with a screen with a barcode on it for each of the vaccinations that you have had that can presumably be scanned and checked when needed.
Well done NHS, it is a system that seems to work very well.
I wonder if any venues in the UK will be brave enough to use it to screen people.

Aside from international travel, what’s the benefits of this for UK venues?

Might give people a false sense of security, I've just been involved in an outbreak of covid where loads of jabbed people have gone down with it.
I just don’t think a vaccine passport brings anything in a health sense and it would just be another level of control and interference in our lives by the Government.

I'm hearing more and more double jabbees going down with covid. A mate of mine has been really rough, considering I knew loads pre jab who had covid who weren't hospitalised I'm not convinced it's the magic bullet that we are hoping for. Time will tell, fingers crossed.

The silver bullet part is that you don't generally end up in hospital - the stats bear this out very clearly.

Interesting events at my mate’s house. Wife and kids all tested positive and had symptoms. Wife only had second jab 4 days earlier, so hadn’t taken full effect. My mate was double jabbed a while ago, and he tested negative and had no symptoms.

Good evidence of the protection given by the second jab.

Remember that deaths had dwindled to almost nil till Boris Johnson decided that a publicity stunt to desperately plaster over the cracks of Brexit was more important than the lives of British citizens. He hears responsibility for 150000 deaths from the first two waves. The numbers may be less this time round but the criminal negligence and hence culpability is is even greater.

Can we all agree on the below.

Can you still test positive after two vaccines?

YES

Can you still possibly transmit the virus after two vaccines?

YES

Are the vulnerable protected ?

YES

Therefore, are Vaccine Passports of any use ?

NO

The End.

Plus I suspect they are now working to improve the vaccine further with a mixture of the versions already out there now we have 6 months of real data 👍

Talk of proof of vaccines via app etc will be needed to enter pubs, eats and clubs from sept.

̶G̶o̶o̶d̶ Anecdotal 'evidence' of the protection given by the second jab.
Regarding the passports, I see it as more psychological 'nudging' to encourage vaccine take-up. Ignore/Carry on remain the watchwords for me. I'll be very surprised if we actually go full retard like Aus/NZ.

I am one of the few people in the world who doesn't have a cell phone. 🙄
MrsDP downloaded the NHS app for herself, but when she tried to download mine it wouldn't accept it.
What do I do?
Please don't say 'buy a cell phone'. 😉

Who gives a shit if someone feels a bit rough ? As long as their not dying it means nothing.

Good points, all a bit of a waste of cash.

Can you still test positive after two vaccines?
YES
But it is a lot less likely that you will test positive if you have had two vaccines (~90%)

Because of the above, they are far more protected if everyone has had two vaccines and can prove it

Therefore, are Vaccine Passports of any use ?
NO
Yes, because it is about controlling transmission rates in social spaces, average is lower if people are vaccinated
Government has announced today that it wants (but won't compel) nightclubs to use Covid passports
(Covid passport is either double vax, recent recovery from Covid, or very recent test result)
