Very Slow Transfer Window.

Considering we are into the last three days of the transfer window there has been very little movement. A total of three deals yesterday and two today. I realise money is tight, but I would have anticipated more loan deals from Premiership teams, with them helping out with a percentage of the wages!

It has suddenly taken off this afternoon, including Curtis Tilt to Wigan and a signing for Fleetwood from Stoke. Gotts, who was once linked with us, has gone to Lincoln.

If Tevitt goes, we will have one I think. We probably need a few ho go out on loan like Howe and Thorniley too.

I am sure we won't see a wow signing and am doubtful we will see any. However, the club has surprised us a number of times with largely unheard of signings

Most of the other signings we have made have come out of no where, so if we are planning on bringing any one else in, it's no surprise we haven't heard a whisper.

Signing players capable of going straight in to the starting XI is paramount today, squad fillers aren't sufficient.

Have we got any space in the squad to fill? Or do we need to ship out first?
By my reckoning we have one squad place empty and one under 21 loan we can fill without any outgoings (assuming we haven’t spent all the salary cap available I suppose!).

Wilson to Cardiff on loan for £1m & they're paying his wages
Kane to Barnsley permanent for £1.25m

As mentioned by someone on here yesterday, maybe those deals give an insight as to why we apparently aren't in for any Liverpool youngsters.

Think Covid has changed the way EPL clubs are doing loan deals.

I think we’ve probably extended the finances as far as they’ll go, for now, unless there is an exceptional player / deal on offer.

If I were SS I’d be looking to see if things improve, keeping something in reserve for January, if a change is needed.

There is still until 7pm for us to bring someone in.

Window closes at 5 plus a 2 hour dispensation.

Plenty of time yet for another 1 or 2 I reckon.

When told this morn after a liverpool
Striker on loan I was hoping/dreaming it was him. But Ben not a bad second choice

Elliot was the player I had a bit of info in that we were trying to get in, hey ho, I suppose a Championship club was always going to win that one, but we seem to be able to beat an of the other clubs in league 1 to signings we are after. That's a hell of an improvement from previous years.

Well the last day certainly made up for the slowness of the other days. Why do clubs leave it to the very last day and the very last minute to do their business?
