Vic in Cleveleys to reopen rumour?

I didn't even know it had closed and I only live up the road other side of Morrisons roundabout must drive past it on a daily basis. 🤣

So what’s the rumour?
It closed but they did say it was for refurbishment rather than a final closure.

In its heyday, it was great, part of the Cleveleys night life which was vibrant back in the day. Live music every night and the nightclub upstairs. Happy times, apart from the undrinkable cloudy beer.

In the 1970s I had a part-time evening job at the Safeway store over the road (where the Tramway pub now is). We often used to go for a drink after a shift in the bar at the Cleveleys hotel. They often used to have music on, but, even in those days, it seemed very dated. I would have thought both the Tramway and the Jolly Tars would have taken alot of of its pub type trade. And it does not have the type of exterior to attract people in for a good time. In fact it has an appearance of an old people's care home. I am surprised it has lasted this long. I haven't been in it for about 40 years.
I am surprised that the company that built the houses on the adjacent plot haven't bid for the site. They had wanted more of the car park for further houses.

I've a soft spot for it as it's the first place I got served. I remember the rooftops restaurant up above in the 80s and big nights on a Sunday with live bands like shady . I know the landlord that quit, just too much interference from Humphrey Smith the owner, turning up unannounced and wanting people warned for using mobile phones.
