For anyone looking to get a bit of exercise, play the beautiful game with little chance of injury and meet some new people then have a look at this. Great group of people involved. No need to be shy, it’s a very friendly set up and the facilities are great too.
Have a look, the “join us” page details the sessions and you can just show up. If you want to ask any questions feel free to DM me by all means 👍

Amazing take up at a time when the sunday leagues are struggling

The league we set up from scratch in Jan last year now has 27 teams

A lot of former players are initially dismissive however soon change their tune after playing The standard in the competitive games is consistently high and whether you are into that or not it's a great way to keep yourself active through your 50s and into your 60s and even 70s

So now you ARE saying sunday leagues are struggling, I would say all levels of, dare I say it, mens football is struggling. Good job the introduction of WF and ladies football is filling some of the gap.

We were talking about this after playing in Blackburn last night
We all used to play for teams on Sundays plus you had West Lancs / Combination on Sats
Think there is only two divisions left in the alliance
Relaxing the licensing hrs was the death knell

A few of us were talking about it too, 8 divisions plus some b divisions on Sun. Junior football the same, although I dont know how many play these days, gazette are no good. I bet most of the Sat bunch NWCL are out of towners too.

I played with you lot for 12 months , it was only when we came back after Covid and I left after 5 minutes
Yeah some threatened to leave if we carried on with WF and it would have made the session unviable so we agreed to run
We have 12-14 every week now
The BCCT sessions are walking and my team plan to train WF only from Sept

Yeah you had the Fylde Coast league you joined whilst you waited to join the alliance It was a decent standard as all the new teams joined plus you had Castle Gardens Toby Grill etc who stayed there

Good point about the licensing hours.

I dont know whats gone on with junior football, maybe the pro teams taking them and not letting them play Sun, if that still happens.
Never thought junior football was run right, teams getting beat week in week out 20 nil, not to be seen the following year. Late 70's/early 80's I was centre half, never touched the ball most season as we used to put plenty passed teams. Only two decent games a year against YM. Great to look forward to on a Sun, like being an out fielder at cricket.

Blood ..might be handy if you put days and times on post. It's real hard to find on the website as well. Should be on landing page ? 🧡

That's the beauty of Walking Football it caters for all ability / fitness levels. Basically if you fancy kicking a ball around - and who doesn't then just give it a whirl. Put any preconceptions to one side, most people are pleasantly surprised. Plenty of women involved as well.

Monday's 5-a-side are always great games, closely contested but most of the Monday lads also play WF and would give anyone a decent game so definitely don't dismiss it just because you already play 5-a-side etc either. If it's good enough for ex pros - see pic below from tournament last Sat.

The growth of the game is crazy it's everywhere - if you just fancy kicking a ball around or want a general fun fitness thing and don't know where to start then just rock up. It's a broad spectrum and literally caters for anybody. https://afcblackpoolseniorseasiders.weebly.com/news
