Walking Football - When Will It Return

It's a real shame this has stopped, but I can't honestly see it returning at least for a couple of months? The Blackpool sessions are outdoors so may be sooner than, say, Lytham, which is in the sports hall at YMCA

The Irish return to normality begins with sporting occasions played by no more than 4 players with social distancing. Looking at June. Whichever sport could they be thinking about?

Have to say I am really missing it

My phone keeps sending me calendar reminders for all the competitive games we had scheduled 😞
Missing it to tim, hopefully we will all return in the not to distant future, with a bit of luck stay safe one and all

I am missing it too, I’ve recovered from my injury and need to get back playing, unfortunately I’ve put a bit of weight on so I feel I’ve set myself back a couple of months .

Cant wait to get back either.
Ive been walking round the garden for 7 weeks now, wanting to kick something, and the dog is looking worried...

Yes it’s a miss for sure Tim. I am doing about 18,000 steps a day and have a spin bike and do spin and RPM on that and some weights to keep in fairly decent nick for my age but it is hardly the same as the competition and craic and just the feel of the football at your feet

Yeah, it's those bloody reminders that are really rubbing it in.

Really missing kicking a ball around. I'm having to go for the occasional run to try and keep the fitness up. Don't mind cycling or walking but I've really got to try and fire myself up to go for a run. I have to pretend to myself that I'm not going for a run and sort of throw myself out of the house before I change my mind. Really not that keen on running unless it's chasing a ball...and obviously not at walking football - that goes without saying. 😀

Whereas I do around 1800 steps and the nearest thing to a spin is feeling light headed if I get up off the sofa too quickly.

Can't see team sports like that being allowed this year unless a vaccine is found. Unless of course you are going to follow the PL plan of being tested twice a week and playing behind closed doors 😉

Put a ball on the pitch then take turns to kick it twice then leave it where it lies and then walk home. Roll a dice, if its even then the “home” side continues play so next person (from the home side) arrives on their own and takes their turn to kick the ball twice - if the dice is odd then person from “away” side walks to the pitch and kicks the ball twice toward other goal and rinse and repeat - there you go, all the fun of walking football played at the same level of breathtaking excitement and socially distant compatible - first to 50 goals wins!

Just pretend your going for a walk, you’ll end up running anyway 🤪🤪

Don't go giving Gordon Taylor any more ideas on how to finish the season.
