Walking Football

Anybody ITK about any sessions starting locally anytime soon? Assuming, if I can gat my nails done, I can meet up outside with some others to kick a ball about.

I’m still part of the group chat from the 5 a side team I used to play for and they’d had a message from poolfoot saying that they were hoping to restart their leagues in late July so yep fingers crossed for walking football soon

Just a follow up to this, my old team have just had it confirmed that their Monday night league at Poolfoot is definitely restarting on Monday 27th July so fingers crossed we hear something soon re the walking football

Hazmat suit at the ready...

knowing my luck, I'll do my hamstring in the first 5 mins and be out for 2 months😟

Really hoping we get back on a Monday tea time!!!

I have just been in discussion with a Community Trust coach who informs me that as things stand, Playfootball (Vida) isn’t scheduled to be reviewed again for reopening until mid September.

Anyone got any contacts or pointers on who or where I could get involved

Does seem a tad sluggish to say the least. To use a sporting analogy if you knew the starting pistol was about to go off you'd at least have your tracksuit on.

Not seen anyone on the pitches at Stanley Park? I guess Blackpool Council are a bit reluctant?? (hope they are on the ball with the swimming pool!!)

I'm in, if we can hire a pitch....

Good evening Walking Footballers

The official line from the Community Trust is that "PlayFootball isn't scheduled to be reviewed again for opening until 15th Sept". I presume
this is because it is a shared facility with the school. Whether that is the review date or the opening date is not clear.

The Greater Manchester League for the Over 60s, 65s and 70s teams is waiting for FA clearance on "contact" grassroots football (will need to be by August 24th) before the competitions restart. The Heywood Sports Village will also need to be fully open.

The best solution at the moment would be for 5-6 like-minded players to gather in a suitable open space for a knock around and a training session.
This can not be endorsed by Blackpool FC Senior Seasiders, the Community Trust and, by association, the full Blackpool FC club of which we are a part of.

I will give you any further information asap.

There appear to be lots of kids training sessions / matches taking place on Stanley Park fields (not pitches) whenever I've been past over the last few weeks.
As someone said previous, we could always make our own goalposts, and just take it easy with rocket shots (Tetley) 😉

Im in if we can get about 6 or 8 of us down on mon, would be good to have a game and meet up,like you say ngw we could always make our own goals

Who’s up for it then ?
Reckon we need eight-ten to make it viable
Presume we’d go for 6pm ( or a little later )
Is Stanley Park suitable ? ie is grass on pitches regularly mowed right now
Alternative might be Cottam Hall ( better parking )

The pitches on Stanley Park.
West park drive southern end have been used regularly over last couple of weeks for private coaching.
The pitch is in a decent condition and as been mown regularly.

Yep 👍

Either venue fine by me but I suppose easier parking sounds better.

Apologies for any delay in replying, I was temporarily banned (no really) from the board for 'trying to sell' Hair Compost 🙄

Latest update

New FA guidance is out, allows us to now start planning out bringing back lots of our programmes, including Walking Football.
We are on a video call with the FA and Premier League on Wednesday to fully understand the protocols and then we can start to plan out getting things back up and running, once facilities open.
Will keep you posted.

Obviously this is all dependent on when facilities are to re-open but encouraging nevertheless

So is anyone up for going to stanley park on mon for a game ,get back into the groove, around 5/45 ish meet on field by 5 aside pitches
