Have you guys got an age limit? A lot of the walking footy I've been involved in around the country has been ok but some specify 50+ which I'm miles off still....

The offical WF held at Playfootball has two Monday sessions, the later one 6-7pm is age 35 plus.

The official sessions look like they're about to restart again shortly following Covid but until then the unoffical Stanley Park game is keeping things ticking over - just turn up if you fancy it.

Another great turn out and a very enjoyable closely fought contest.

Even had a ref last night due to Table42's ankle (every credit for still bringing the jumpers for goalposts gear 👍). Just as well we had a ref cause there were a few contentious crossbar decisions. Definitely one of the better innovations in the game, the crossbar.

PNE wouldn't agree eel.
Their glory days disappeared.

Meeting with Community Trust tomorrow (Thursday) to discuss a possible return date to PlayFootball.

Numbers will be limited for each session though to remain Covid secure. Depends what Boris comes up
with later this afternoon. watch this space.

So, with the rule of 6 - I take it our informal gathering on a Monday at Stanley Park is now not to be..!?

Organised sporting events are exempt I think and with the professional equipment you kindly supply each week and the obvious high standard of football on show I’m sure we must qualify as organised 😀

Good Morning Walking Footballers.

WF will re-start on Monday 28th September at PlayFootball . 4.30-5.30pm for Over 50's. 6-7pm for the later Over 35's session.

Temperatures will be taken at the gate (runners and cyclists will need to allow 5-10 minutes to cool down first then !) Hand sanitiser must be used.

it is advised that everyone brings their own sanitiser to be sure your are covered. Wearing facemasks is not compulsory but you may feel more comfortable doing so up to starting the games.

Sorry this is long winded. The same has gone out by e-mail to Senior Seasiders club members on my mailing list. Commonsense and consideration must prevail at all times. The Community Trust and the Seasiders have put a lot of work into ensuring as safe a return to walking football as possible so please bear with us.
Then again, Boris and his cronies may change the goalposts again before the 28th !!

See you in the middle.
Steve Hyde (BFC Senior Seasiders Secretary)

I would also suggest that the informal gatherings of players at Stanley Park and Poulton Civic Centre do not come under the
Organised Sports Exemption Rule.

But that is only my interpretation.

Exact definition seems very difficult to pin down but I assumed that sport and exercise is still being encouraged. Random gatherings are being targetted and it certainly doesn't fit into that category.

Shame if we do have to knock it on the head at Stanley Park but understandable. At least now we’ve got the real thing to look forward too. Thanks for the update Steve. All sounds very well thought out and organised. Can’t wait to get back.

Derekspence, I e mailed you earlier mate. As you know I won’t be back under these restrictions as I enjoyed the craic as much as the football. Having read for a second time all the restrictions imposed (not by you) though I think they are miles over the top......

you have to get permission to use the one toilet in the Sports Centre and then clean the room afterwards??......millions of people are using public tiolets in shopping centres etc...this draconian restriction makes no sense

You have to maintain a certain distance??...so if a player has the ball he can stroll straight down the middle of the pitch and score as no one is allowed to go near him??....nonsensical

it will be impossible for the refs to officiate...they used to get slaughtered anyway 😁

I wish all you lads the very best, cracking group of fellas but it ain’t for me until restrictions are eased....which hopefully they are at some point

Too be honest Blood I did have a large input into these conditions.

Blackpool FC, The Community Trust, PlayFootball, Collegiate School and the Senior Seasiders have a "duty of care" to our players to make sure
we don't become the focus of another Birmingham or Bolton. Many of our group are in the vulnerable age range.

Sorry if you feel unable to join in, but then everyone has to make their own considered choice without fear of negative comment or blame.

Look forward to seeing you back soon.

I think we know why places like Bolton and Brum are at more risk and it ain’t to do with walking football etiquette Mate. As I said I wish all of you only good things 👍
