Look at the track records and careers and Blackpool's line up, compared to ours. We have a squad filled with top flight experience, players subject to £20m bids, full internationals. Blackpool's is full of Championship/League 1-level cloggers and they taught us a lesson. Because they wanted it more. Because they sprinted to close down, because they launched themselves at loose balls and didn't bottle challenged.

In a way they are right, if we had the talents they had and the money spent you'd expect to do better then today.

But football doesn't work like that always, they just came up against a better team today. Not better at keeping the ball, but better at scoring goals on the day. 2nd half we defended as a team and were clinical with our attacks. We wanted it more too.

Players only play like that if they are playing for the manager. A fact we should remember.
 
Cloggers….Err what was that foul by them near the end if not that….oh sorry that is professional and taking one for the team….which by the way there have been several against us this and last season.

Football fans in general seem to equate transfer fees with footballing ability, which is a real fallacy. Just because the Watford fan has never heard of Jerry Yates, Gary Madine and Chris Maxwell they're automatically "cloggers". He's also unaware of Charlie Patino, reputedly the best player ever from Arsenal's academy, and their training ground is almost in Watford. Hardly a clogger, nor is Corbeanu. I suppose everyone has the right to be ignorant but some people abuse the privilege.

I loved how CJ clogged his way past their players like there almost weren't there.

I’ve done the same, can’t believe how bad they think their team is, talk of relegation,protests, saying Blackpool are one of the poorest teams in the league then saying they can’t believe some bloke called Jerry scored against us & it doesn’t have a ring to it like messi
As great as we were today it’s obvious the squad they have is far superior than ours & I’d expect them to be in the playoffs at the end of the season

Imagine if we'd spent the money they had and were performing like they are. This board goes into partial meltdown if we only draw away from home with the squad and finances we have .
A team of honest 100%grafters , a few home growns and the occasional 'Bowler ' would suit me much better thanks 👍

Yeah although I wouldn't mind all that talent. More times than not they'll beat sides.
 
I said in the week, we need to be putting these whifter type teams to the sword. A piss easy win today against a tinpot club. Of course we expect to win these kind of games, but you can never take them for granted.

A professional performance and we barely got out of first gear 👍

They can't match the passion of the tangerine army in full flow.
 
Same sort of reaction happened at Blackburn when we lost rather limply.

Must be something to do with fully deserving losing to Lancashire teams whilst being outplayed in the process !

Tbh there is a lot of general frustration and anger at the cub which escalated after Rob Edwards was sacked who was a popular manager and the club had said he’d be given a chance to settle in and show what he can do.

But obviously that didn’t happen.

Generally there is a lot of finger pointing at the owners for the lack of investment in key areas like defence or general poor recruiting.

We have a connection with a agent who is facing a court case for financial offences and really there is a lack of communication generally between fans and the club:

Plus we have a very poor injury record so there is no consistency in team selection.

Now some reaction will probably be emotion speaking after a very disappointing performance against what some will see as a team we ought to beat (sorry no offence !)

Particularly towards the defence.

Mind you probably nothing compared to what the reaction might be if Luton beat us !!

You fully deserved the victory and good luck for the rest of this season .

He was an injury doubt before the game but we are so short probably was risked then got injured again ..

Certainly not much supporting the team ..

Got them in a few weeks .

Can see some fans not being that bothered about going or the score .
 
I must admit that at half-time I thought we were 2nd best.
However MA used his subs brilliantly.
We showed Watford how to use Subs.
What a fantastic 2nd half display.
Keep that up and we won't be near the bottom, nearer the top.
Watford fans were deluded.
 
Their defending for the goals was atrocious, the way they just let CJ down the byline to cross, and for the second though Jerry flashed his trademark moves the defender backed off almost to the goal line.
 
To all those sulking, mard arsed Watford supporters ..... A good sport is brought up to believe:
  • Be humble in victory and gracious in defeat - nobody likes a bad loser - UTMP 🧡
  • It's alright to cry when you win, but NEVER when you lose - UTMP 🍊
 
Did you see their lad on the right for our second goal just jogging then stopping as CJ crossed the ball

I think that's the sort of thing Bilic means

I think that's terrible, we should complain to Arsenal, Wolves and City; fancy loaning us league 1-level cloggers.

Nobody let CJ down the byline,he tricked them twice before he launched a perfect cross. Give CJ some credit!!
