We are "little" Blackpool

We need to get used to it.
We can flirt every now and again with the playoffs and the occasional trip to the Championship but our natural position is mid/mid League 1.
We have less than 7k regular season ticket holders and rarely get +8k home fans on any game unless it's a derby or some other important game.
We pay less and have worse facilities than many League 1 clubs now and the squad we have at this moment would be mid table League 1, but unfortunately we will lose the better players we have before next season kicks off.
We need to accept this and try to look forward, start the building up now and not leave it till the last minute like we usually do.
Down to Simon Sadler now, accept the inevitable and kick on now.

We have over 8k ST holders and regularly get 10k home fans attending, let's not forget its been terrible this season at very high prices.

We've had decades of shite, a damaging boycott and got promoted with no fans in attendance, then only 4k allowed to Wembley.

If we manage to come straight back up it could do wonders for our crowds actually in attendance this time.

We've a lot of rebuilding and growing to do still.

The facilities we are looking to address.

You are doing BFC a disservice quoting wrong figures and facts, I do agree with the midtable league1 squad though.

Nonsense look at our clubs history we should be top Flight or at least a comfortable Championship side
For nearly 50 years we've barely seen the top 2 divisions. In the last 50 years the business of football has changed so much and the club has been left behind by a lack of investment and management from the top. I think we have found our level....unfortunately.

Don’t agree with the above.

From 2007 to 2023 we have been in the top two divisions for 10 out of 16 seasons.

For 4 of the 6 seasons out of the top two divisions (2015 to 2019) the club was in total meltdown.

We have potential, but the board will have to make better decisions in the next 18 months than the last 18. That would be a good start.

And looking at the team today, a clear out of players with a one year option at the clubs discretion is needed. Some of them are good players, but a losing mentality is infectious.

A lot of Tangerine tinted glasses as always and to be expected but we really do need to face facts.
Next season we have nearly half the 1st team out of contract, a rebuild from the ground up will not be easy nor will it be cheap, we have poor facilities in the training ground and the stadium (the pitch is pretty good this season though) we won't have over 8k season tickets in League 1 unless SS offers them at cheap prices and as for over 10k home fans only if we are doing well and playing proper football.
In League 1 I think we'll be lucky to get 6k season ticket holders, especially the way things are nowadays.
Only three teams promoted from League 1 so whoever misses out this season be it Bolton, Ipswich, Derby, Portsmouth or Barnsley all have more potential than us and dare I add Huddersfield into that with possibly Leyton Orient in that mix as well.
Put the new training ground and East stand on the back burner and concentrate on on field success, without a decent team to support what would be gained over spending elsewhere?

What your saying does make sense in fairness, but we could be so much more 1st ballon doe winner FA cup winner when it was the biggest thing to win more so then the league & 3 finals in a short space of time hopefully one day we can get back to been seen as a big club.
Funny thing other supporters slagged us off having the Os As owners and as bad as those were we were still more successful then most who were slagging us. I really dont think we are a small club

Could not disagree with the OP more. At one point this season we were averaging more that t'Rovers on the gate and of course they're now having a half decent season and we are awful so that's changed but we absolutely belong at this level.

How many times do people need to be told the east stand as to happe,as the current one is not fit for purpose and will not get a safety certificate in the very near future

Pure bull.

It's a self fulfilling prophecy and from the start of this season with the constant "punching above our weight" talk, Appletons "one year does not make you a championship player" message to the squad etc we've manifested our current situation.

Not saying fanbase, budget doesn't make a difference but when you combine that with a constant "we shouldn't be here" message our situation is inevitable.

We're Blackpool FC , we've had 70+ seasons in the top 2 divisions, we're the only English club other than Liverpool and Man U to have the current Ballon d'or winner in our team, we have one of the loudest, most passionate fanbases in the football league, we graced the biggest league in the world barely a decade ago, this should be instilled in everyone at the club.

Beg again to differ, yes the training ground is not state of the art but it's had a refit and is perfectly habitable and fit for short term purpose. The stadium, you say we have poor facilities, do you mean the temporary East and the not big enough concourse in the North?. For the rest of the stadium I think we have some great facilities certainly good enough for the Championship, lack of facilities certainly hasn't hindered Luton.

Until we get the maximum wage back and living in the fresh air of the seaside is a preferable option to the smog of the city, I fear we many not be first choice for the games leading lights sadly...
Or, a bit radical this, a new world war happens and Premier League footballers are stationed just outside Blackpool, then guest for us during the hostilities, and ultimately end up staying with us!

So yes we can easily compete in the championship as shown in season 1.

Unfortunately what's cost us in the decisions and recruitment.

We didn't stagnate we went backwards and also then didn't get the max out of what we had.

We don't yet have a completed stadium and haven't really thrown any deals at it.

If we completed it then got promoted playing good football with fans in attendance, we'd get far more attending next time.

We're at the start of our growing phase really, or what should be if the club price and sell it right.

Don’t be too harsh on yourselves. You are still slightly bigger than Fleetwood Town (who you will be playing again next season).

We are only little Blackpool if we and the board accept that, I don't think either will, but it's hard not to be considered little or tinpot when we have a training ground and stadium like we do, which is why the board have concrete plans to improve both.
