We need 30 plus points from our last 15 games.

Always try and be positive but we’ve got a coach who is so ingrained in his processes and inability to make pro-active in-game changes that we’ll not have the balls to do it.

It might be a work in progress and function better over time but it’ll probably help if we have the right players to make it work better.

Unless critchley either has an epiphany, or decides to ditch his, “not to lose’ mentally, we won’t make the playoffs. Of course, one or more of the teams above us could have a terrible run of defeats, which could help us, but we shouldn’t be relying on that.

OK, I didn't go to the match.
However, it just isn't good enough the points we are dropping to 'ordinary' teams.
I was prepared to support Critch, however after recent games, especially yesterday, enough is enough.
If we don't put a run together now we are f----d.
Heads should roll.

I wouldn't say Oxford were ordinary. They're a decent team and it wasn't a bad game. It more the likes of Port Vale and Burton away over Xmas which are unforgiveable performances.
He's not going to lose his job this season if we finish 7/8th. It's been a frustrating but mixed performance season (we have scored a lot of goals), not enough for heads to roll... yet.

Highly unlikely under Critchley. Clearly his tactics don't suit some of the players who in many cases are no more the average footballers. It's regression as opposed to progression at present.

are we gonna do it?
Sadly not.

Inconsistency - I just can't see us suddenly picking up points consistently away from home.

Of the 15 remaining games, 9 are away.

The formation has been done to death already on here, but Critch is likely to remain stubborn and stick with it. As posted above, it's a work in progress, but with seemingly no target date for success?

Safety first by Critch, we're not going down so we shouldn't need to "set up not to lose"?

A pretty disappointing season so far. Never say never, but I can't see it sadly.

Hopefully I'm wrong

Interesting that Oxford have only taken 3 points out of the last 15, Peterborough have only taken 4 points, however, we have only taken 2 points from the last 9. We need to start winning and hope those two continue their poor form, or others have a bad run.IMG_2540.jpeg

More points than Peterborough over the last few games. They've lost 3 on the trot including a thrashing at the mighty Wycombe yesterday. I can only presume their fans have all decided this season is over.
Tbf, they are 9 points ahead of us and in 5th place.

We need to string 5 or 6 league wins together. Nothing we've done so far this season suggests we're capable of doing that.

Current form would suggest they could be three points ahead of us after Saturday 😉

At some point we will be desperate and Critch will have to go gung ho ,but when ? Will he wait till we need to win all last 8 games to get 6th place ???

No of course not. Critchley has chosen to flounder all season and suddenly he’s going to become enlightened and play players in their preferred positions using a system they understand?

I’m 60/40 on it. 60% thinking we won’t reach the playoffs.

It feels as though we’ve given ourselves too much to do now. But nobody can predict what will happen between now and the end of the season. The beauty of football I suppose.

Strangely our two big games IMHO are coming up - we clearly need to win at Cheltenham tomorrow, Posh away will be a tough old task but I'd take a point now and then Posh at home could be a real season definer - win that, a Wembley trip and the money that would come in would probably save what has been a mundane season.

Currently averaging 1.5 points a game - to put that in to perspective if we won the next 4 (unlikely) it would only take us to just above 1.6 with 11 games left and still well short of the 1.75 we're after with little room for error.
We all did this last season and talked our way out of relegation when it was staring us in the face.

Nope, we were unlucky in a couple of games then we regressed back to our early season form. I clung on longer than some but I can’t see us going on a good run, we’re not going to beat Peterborough, Derby and Orient away from home and we’d probably need at least 6 points from those games.
