The Met Office weather warnings today only cover the Lancashire and Welsh Coastlines and mid Scotland so I guess any reports of chaos down South due to flooding etc are a combination of the after effects of Kathleen and the media overhyping anything which happens South of Watford

ST ANNES right as we speak appears to be clearing up. Rain stopped . i am ten minutes from the square. my weather app says sunshine from about two this afternoon.

Soaked in St Annes, my dog did not want to go on his 8am walk and his big dopey ears nearly had him lifting off on a couple of occasions. Now it's stopped raining but still very windy. Should be no issues tonight, it'll dry up in no time after 4pm.

I’m planning to watch the already twice postponed Bamber Bridge vs Macclesfield match at the Farmer Giles ploughed field stadium whilst keeping an eye on the Blackpool match. Pitch inspection due at 2pm but persistent rain at moment in Walton le Dale doesn’t fill me with any optimism it will go ahead. Brig on the crest of a slump at the moment since beating Southport in the Lancs cup semifinal. They were hoping for a big crowd tonight & I was going early for an excellent pepper steak pie chips & curry( free) & a pint of Fosters (£3.40). Probably will have to settle for my wife’s cooking & a listen to match commentary on Radio Lancs. UTMP
