Well said Mr Sunak

Lala’s comments on this thread are quite correct and definitely balanced. As I understand it, these views are shared by Woman’s Place UK among others. I believe that the extreme wing of the trans lobby, with threats of violence to dissenters, attempts to get people sacked from their jobs for offering alternative viewpoints, etc., will do more harm than good for their ‘cause’ in the long run. If they persist in such a course, I expect a far more robust response in the future, not just from feminists, but also from the general public.

Some people, through nurture or nature, find themselves in conflict between their birth gender and their prefered gender. These people go through biological, familial and social agonies. They are not a threat to society. If they could have recognition, understanding and acceptance they could relax and be happy without being any threat to anyone. I suggest that those who want to harbour grievances are the real threat.
They already get that, it's all the other stuff they expect that's the problem.

DSM-5 puts the prevalence of gender dysphoria at around 1/20,000 adults, so perhaps 3,000 or so across the UK, most of whom are actually better off with supportive treatments rather than gender reassignment surgery.

While I accept that there are a small number of people who fall into the category you describe above, the vast majority of the running in the trans debate seems to be being made by people who have ulterior motives.

You strike me as s simplistic thinker who has no depth of reading or understanding on the topic. You seem to be a 2 legs bad, 4 legs good type of Guy. I’m not wanting to be rude or insulting but they are my thoughts
Hahaha..and your "in-depth" views on his post?

Possibly because those ordinary people who are really struggling with it don't want to attract attention.

Agree about the debate being used by those with ulterior motives, it's such a miniscule amount of people that are effected by this issue that you wonder why the Prime Minister is getting so involved in it!

Because the very small number of people are being weaponized by groups who want to have a large effect on a lot of people.

That would be a no then.

For the avoidance of doubt, you are claiming that you know more about the subject than the authors of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual, which is the bible for all psychiatric disorders, I think that is very unlikely.
Of course I'm not claiming that you plum.
