Hundreds of millions of pounds. £653 million to be precise. They can’t put rapists in jail through lack of room so I can understand why he wasn’t sent down.

I didn't see that but if HMRC class his behaviour as deliberate they can go back 20 years and in this case the settlement covers 18 years.
Had he paid his taxes they could have built another jail to house all these scummy bastards.
People blame the government Cons or Labs for the state of the prison service. If less people commited crime wouldn't need as many. How about some if these career criminals get sent to Rwanda.
Pretty sure the threat of that would sort a few of these absolute plums out.

At this minute in time HMRC probably felt £630 M was a better result that putting a 93 year old in clink. Having ripped off the tax payers should we then have to put him up and given him medical care? It would have probably been pointless.

We have more in jail than anywhere else in Europe. Most of whom are repeat offenders. The justice system is yet another aspect in crisis.
