Wembley of the North

I like the idea of a National Stadium of the North.

The presumption that it should be in Manchester and home to Manchester United for 90% of the time is a little arrogant though.

I'd add that it would be good to have it in Blackpool for all the obvious reasons (so much more to do, enough hotels to accommodate everyone realistically inexpensively)

It would do really well for friendlies too. It's not hard to imagine an Old Firm match being played in such a venue (just as an example).

It'll never happen as we can't even complete a ground 25 yards after starting it.

Sooty59 beat me to it a bit.
The FA owe squillions on Wembley, which is why they play as many big matches as possible there, and tout it out all over the world.
I'm sure they'll be delighted to see another state-of-the-art 20 years newer stadium built, following on from Tottenham's, which the NFL have already chosen to use ahead of Wembley.

Cheeky sods all Man Utd are doing is trying to get our money to help pay for a new stadium.
No government is going to fall for that whoever is in power.

Everton tried pulling that stunt with the Commonwealth games and got told no so had to build on their own.

And what happens when he loses interest? You only have to look at Team INEOS in cycling and INEOS Team UK in sailing to see how they have tanked since he lost interest to focus on buying Manchester United & partnering with Mercedes GP

That debt is nearly paid off. It was due to be paid off this year...

Years, although I like yards.

I dare say but is it any worse than around Wembley, l know which l prefer?
Miles worse.
Outside Wembley had actually improved I noticed our last visit against Lincoln.

FA outside OT apart from Spoons,a crappy United pub and a off licence.
I should know I'm there next month at the Warehouse for a concert been several times it's a horrible area.

I'm all for it. Anything that brings games closer to the North West.
Don't get the vitriol against Manchester - like saying that Guildford should get pissed off that everything is in London!
