The last two games he’s said we have been the better side in the game. Don’t know if I’ve been watching a different game to him ?

I will wager 99% of what I own that what Critch says for us to see and what he actually thinks is completely different.

In public, he defends his players, as any manager worth their salt would do. Behind closed doors, he will be all over them.
Agree with this. I remember him defending that awful performance at Rochdale last season, you have to read between the lines with his post match comments.

Tonight was right up there with Derby & Birmingham away. Preston are garbage and tonight we looked like a Div 2 side.

I posted pre game that Madine cannot play that role in that formation with with Keshi in the hole. He’s never going to link properly and we saw that affect the attacking balance tonight. Critch is too negative too often, and no surprise we have a negative goal difference.

Something has to change going into next season, we simply can’t keep lumping it forward and hoping to play off knock downs.

I don’t think he can be all over them tonight. He got the starting selection wrong playing Madine.

He got it wrong big time tonight, from the starting 11 to shape. Not changing it at half time was another mistake. Sorry Critch, but it’s on you this!

I said at half time we need someone to be getting into the players in the changing room, and he doesn’t strike me as that person. We needed passion and desire tonight in that sort of game and we got nothing. They weren’t any better than us, but they wanted it more and that was the difference.

Spot on 👍🏼 I was at the bottom left of our stand looking down the touch line and I’m not sure I saw Critchley getting animated once. The buck stops with him for that rubbish performance tonight 👎

One of the most negative, clueless managers we have ever had at Blackpool and yet people treat him like he is royalty. Out of his depth in this division and the past two games have proved that

Madine can't run, he is slower than most.defenders, as a lone striker he will never pose a threat.
It's not like he wins every header, gets on the end of crosses, takes it down on his chest and plays in midfield runners what's the point?
Might be sort of OK in a front two but does nothing up front on his own.

Knock downs and lay offs that he rarely makes even if somebody was running into space from midfield, which they usually aren't!

I saw him going mental a few times to be fair. Did he even come over after the game??

Tactically all wrong - we go again - time for the players to step up after 2 pretty woeful games - can’t have Madine up top on his own - love to see Beesley and the other lads get a chance now

You can’t blame that abject surrender on one player on any one player. There is such a thing as collective responsibility, Critchley got his selection and tactics completely wrong the team as a whole were rubbish, why doesn’t he just admit it and move on. No instead he tries to polish a turd and treat us al like idiots or children, forgetting we saw the whole debacle. He doesn’t need to single out anyone in particular, like some on here do, just come out and say from the Manager down we got it wrong and we will do our utmost to put it right, he would gain a lot more respect and we could move on.

I'm not blaming Madine alone, it's not his fault that the manager picks him, but in the modern game you need a 6 foot plus striker that can run, Madine can't run. Their centre backs and keeper had an easy night.
There was also a lack of quality in midfield and in an ideal world Husband and Connolly don't play at full back.
Can't bring myself to listen to Critchleys interview but he should concede that we didn't play well preston weren't much better but they slightly shaded it.
If I can take a positive from last night hopefully our owner sees that the squad needs significant investment and preston will stick with that arrogant nob head into next season.

I gave up taking Critchley's post match comments serious in march last season, when he said that he hadn't even looked at the league table.

That was a real cringeworthy comment.

Why Lavery is not starting every week baffles me. I know he is still learning but he is by far and away the most natural goal scorer in the squad and maybe in the championship. The team in my view should be prepared around him and finding that partner who will assist his game up front. Not sure that is Madine in the long term though. It’s been said before but good effective teams rely on a solid keeper who will gain you points over the course of a season, a Rock at Centre half managing the defence, a busy creative talent running midfield and an out and out striker who you can rely on to get the goals. Lavery needs to be on the pitch starting games and putting in a good 60 to 80 minutes. I’m reasonably happy with Grimmy, very happy with Big Marv, midfield general for me is still missing and Lavery will be a big player for us but we need to play to his strengths and for next season he needs a quality striking partner alongside him. I’ve never been a fan of Husband but he has improved over the season and always gives 100%. However when he plays at left back he is very ineffective going forward and more often than not, what starts off as a promising attack, stops and the ball goes backwards. That’s not his fault but if we are trying to create opportunities, he is not the man.
We have a big squad at the moment with a number of players not really given a consistent opportunity to show what they are about and if they are good enough for the Championship. It should be an interesting summer in the transfer market to see who stays, who goes and who comes in.

He’s opened himself up for major criticism with his post match comments last night.

“Normally we get something out of the games after a defeat and we were very close to getting something tonight”

If last night was getting something after a deafest against Forest, I dread Saturday.

“This is not the time either to make outlandish statements or slate the players for this, that and the other. As I said to you, we weren't outrun, we weren't outfought, if that was the case I'd be the first to say.”

I just can’t see his point here. We lost every battle, we chased the game, we never laid a glove on them let alone a punch. Not a single shot on target all game and he comes out with this utter nonsense!!!!

I like the bloke, don’t get me wrong. But hold your hands up and say you got it wrong and the players had no passion or desire for the game. Utter garbage on the pitch and now off it with his comments!!
