I’m tending more towards the first option so the blow is lessened a little for me as under coach Critchley we were always likely to try and win it one nil and come a cropper. We did in fact try and get a second before the inevitable, so that’s a small comfort too.

Would rather fall short knowing we did all we can but results went against us. Out of our hands that way.

Nah. its far worse to fail due to our own shortcomings than putting on a noble effort that we can respect rather than a dismal failure when success was there for our taking but spurned by our own shortcomings yet again..
Personally I am amazed anyone could think differently.

It's a sign that even a chance of making progress was never going to be possible this season as soon as Reading equalised. No strength or will to find a way. Just excuses made by the weak. Not even a hindsight thing because it's been there all year.

And couldn't even manage the task of giving a Pretend Development Squad money signing a token debut in a dead game at 3-1 down so that everyone could pretend that this is a thing the club is doing properly either. The robot had malfunctioned by then and it wasn't in the plans.

My only surprise yesterday was Lincoln made an arse of their big chance to go 1-0 up and then did the same. I expected them to take Barnsley's place.
