Thats one way to try and undermine the boycott, look at the numbers still attending. The numbers were clearly artificially inflated by the Oystons. Screenshots from the time seemed to indicate 1500 to 2000 somnambulent shrooms occupying L,M and N and a small area in the South.
Nah. We fought for the club while they slowed down the process. Phuck emI didn’t attend for close on 5 years, but isn’t it time we moved on from all that bollox. It’s a brave new world on the gold coast and we’re all in it together.look forward not back.
Apart from them being right there in the photo lining up of course It's just before kick off, you can see them stood with the officials in the middle. That photo was taken well before kick off.
The players aren’t warming up!
I am rarely in my seat until players are out like a great deal of ohers
They used to give out a load of free tickets to schools and include these in the official attendance whether they were used or not.The official crowd for that day was 4154.
Given I'm pretty up on counting seats etc we know the north holds 2748 all in right to the front rows.
Block e and a are sparse so those in there could easily be put in b or d. Those blocks a and e hold 408 each so minus that off 2748 gives us 1932.
The theres 4 rows at the from of each remaining block left empty.
Aprox 300.
Putting the few fans from a and e into b still leaves some gaps and probably gaps in d too.
Lets guess at 150 seat gaps left.
I estimate 1482 away fans there.
Now home fans.
Given the official attendance was 4154 and lets be generous and say 1500 away fans came. That means there was supposed to be aprox 2654 home fans there.
Hmmm.
Block L holds 537 and block N holds 481. They are probably half full if were lucky so 509 but lets be generous and say 600.
The south lets be generous and say 150, I'll say 250 in total in the remainder of the stands and hospitality.
1000 tops I'd say looking at that.
OK there may still be a few in the concourse as its just getting to kick off but...
Where are the missing 1600 ish fans?
Maybe there was a late run on free mushroom soup?Apart from them being right there in the photo lining up of course It's just before kick off, you can see them stood with the officials in the middle.
Ahh ok. Well the point was to guestimate how many were there in the picture at kick off and its woefully short of the official numbers. They used to give out a load of free tickets to schools and include these in the official attendance whether they were used or not.
exactly this. distributed free tickets around all the schools, these were then added to the attendance. They used to give out a load of free tickets to schools and include these in the official attendance whether they were used or not.
AlcockThere are still a few Oyston lovers about. I had a few words with one in the South last week.
100% agree, wasted time looking backwardsI didn’t attend for close on 5 years, but isn’t it time we moved on from all that bollox. It’s a brave new world on the gold coast and we’re all in it together.look forward not back.
Honestly! That is staggering, what was the basis of his support for a scumbag who nearly succeeded in crippling a football club. There are still a few Oyston lovers about. I had a few words with one in the South last week.
So block L holds 537 and, N holds 481 , C in the north holds 624 and V in the south holds about 534.I have a few photos taken from Scrafters during that period and he generally took them as the players were taking to the pitch to show the lack of Pool supporters, here’s another from Jan 29 2019 against Wycombe Wanderers 2-2. Official attendance 2388. Looks like the Pool players are doing a warm up on the other side of the pitch indicating that it’s just before kick off.

I think 2388 was the attendance for each of the four stands. So a total of 21 for this one.I have a few photos taken from Scrafters during that period and he generally took them as the players were taking to the pitch to show the lack of Pool supporters, here’s another from Jan 29 2019 against Wycombe Wanderers 2-2. Spot on there JJ but we’ll never know the true numbers as the ST sales are counted in!So block L holds 537 and, N holds 481 , C in the north holds 624 and V in the south holds about 534.
These are the main populated blocks.
Thats 2176 in total if all are completely full.
As we can see they are nowhere near in some cases, even putting the few remaining stragglers in other blocks into those blocks nowhere near fills them.
2388 attendance?
Scrafton always takes the pic around the same time, here it looks just after the lineups as the opposition look to be setting up for kick off with thier keeper with towel going to the north goal.
No need for those few to be kettled down a side street…Looking at those pictures.. Christ, what must it have been like in Bloomfield Road at that time? Must have been the most lifeless, depressing thing ever. What possessed people to keep attending? It was wrong on a moral level and it must have been utterly shite, everything that makes football great had been stripped away
Can't believe how good we've got it, so soon after that. Unbelievably lucky when you think about it, I thought the rebuild both on the pitch and with the fanbase would take years and years but its as if we've jumped straight back into the Holloway era again.
As Owen has been a fan since two he obviously now recognises the good ship Blackpool FC is better off without his grubby hands on the tiller and he now wears Sadler is King undercrackers beneath his velvet trousers when attending a House of Roma private showing.Looking at those pictures.. He looks like he sleeps in a hedge. Was given short shrift by most at the TG dinner from the looks of it
Makes sense now why the police can't cope with the current masses after being used to that, where they knew the offending fans by name.No need for those few to be kettled down a side street…
He believes he saved the club when he took over and kept the club running during the boycott. Didn't seem to register that Belokons money got us to the premier then the O's took the money.Honestly! That is staggering, what was the basis of his support for a scumbag who nearly succeeded in crippling a football club.
But if the pictures are all like that then there was never more than about 1k home fans.Spot on there JJ but we’ll never know the true numbers as the ST sales are counted in!
In realityBut if the pictures are all like that then there was never more than about 1k home fans.
I always felt bad on a match day the fact I was missing games until I saw these pics. Shame that those who did go couldn't have chosen at least one game that season for a total boycott to show unity with everyone else.
